iirc, Unite had an option that toggled whether moving forward was relative to the camera vs character orientation. If you remap the camera to the right stick, it's way easier to circle-strafe. The left shoulder button is more ideal for sharp turnarounds, like if a mon charges past and is 180° behind you or after dodging

Claw = use the side of your left index finger to control the d-pad camera. Left thumb still on stick to move, and your middle finger takes over the shoulder button. For the record, the claw isn't really a fond memory (to me at least), even if it's a funny one.

If it were me, I'd just remap the right joystick to the d-pad so you can spare your fingers the pain!

Do you have other MH experience?

Longsword was a lot simpler in Unite so that's a good medium-weight weapon that you can dodge easily with.

Sword n shield is very beginner friendly for its item usage while wield (very important while learning how to paintball consistently or learn the timing windows for healing)

Hammer is great for learning because it has more low-commitment attack options than other slow weapons while you learn your openings

Time to learn the claw grip, either on PSP

Makes sense. The videos I saw about setting it up mentioned a headless chrome browser. But I'm new to self-hosting and didn't know if it had to be chrome or if you could use a better option, since you can use an OLLAMA instead of chatgpt for example

This looks really cool. Can anyone explain to me if a headless chrome browser is dangerous the way a regular chrome browser is? I'm only hesitant because I don't know

With that said, I have a security-related question: at what point in self-hosting am I exposed to the outside internet that warrants things like reverse proxies and other security measures? I'm currently typing router IPs (e.g. 192.168.x.x) to access the services, so is my machine exposed if the only people intending to connect are local on our wireless network?

Total noob to Docker (desktop for windows) and I'm just trying to figure out how (and where) to add a config to my Navidrome image or change lines on the image itself, to point it to my music library and create admin login credentials (ಥ﹏ಥ) If I can accomplish that then I eventually want to try Immich or NextCloud afterward.

I want to switch to Linux but I'm not sure where to start! I want to

• play current-gen games (graphically speaking) on steam, as well as
• lots of retro games with Launchbox/RetroArch
• do 3D modeling in blender, and
• produce music in a free DAW.

I don't know if any of those factors impose restrictions due to software/hardware differences (or if that even makes a difference), but I want to move over everything I can into a linux environment

Is Vanadium not as ideal compared to Ironfox? I'm new to GOS

I've been getting into the fediverse for less than a month, and it seems the biggest barrier for a newcomer like me is settling on a select few out of many clients/apps. One question I think a lot of people migrating want to know is (and I open this up to anyone):

What's the fewest signups needed if we want to enjoy all of the federated replacements to corporate social media? It sounds like each client demands its own account but I'm wondering where/if there's overlap, because…

My Lemmy account already worked on movim before i discovered movim. That's really cool but I don't know 100% how that worked (same community server, I think), and how many other apps/clients offer that.

Movim is XMPP and I don't know how that overlaps with ActivityPub, but I want to better understand so that I know how few accounts are necessary so I can micro and macro blog, share original/repost images videos and music, have group communities, and have a personal page to post things on as opposed to thread/conversations/forum posts and not have to manage ten separate accounts if I can help it
