  • Also every year, 2½ million older Americans die. So in the same eight years, that’s as many as 20 million fewer older voters. Which means that between Trump’s election in 2016 and the 2024 election, the number of Gen Z (born in the late 1990s and early 2010s) voters will have advanced by a net 52 million against older people. That’s about 20 percent of the total 2020 eligible electorate of 258 million Americans.

And unlike previous generations, Gen Z votes… young people in recent years to vote more frequently for Democrats and progressive policies than prior generations did when of similar age

Not saying that 2024 is in the bag for Biden, but a lot has changing in the electorate. And I’ll take a little hope when I can get it.

  • That takes money. Money doesn’t magically appear. Seems really naive.

    Also. Stop yelling. Fucking cringe.

  • Find me data that says interacting with the police over a noise complaint in the UK takes more years off your life on average than not being able to sleep. Idiot

You’re just a wannabe social anarchist. It’s ok to do anything harmful to others, and there should never be recourse for the victim, right….

No one can be this stupid. Has to be trolling.

  • Cops aren’t dangerous thugs where I live. Maybe you should move. Not everywhere is like where you’re from. OP is in the UK. Police brutality in most places isn’t like it is in Florida.

  • You’re the guy that talks in the theater, leaves popcorn and soda all over the seat, etc. We know who the dipshit is here.

Also. The cops don’t just kill pepper for no reason in most of the world. Sorry you live in such a shithole. But it’s not as universal as you hope.

  • Playing loud music once in a while is fine. For an occasion. Doing it all the time is harmful to others. Public health is mental health. And it’s a right people are entitled to. People need quiet sometimes to rest, to read, to do homework, to have quality time with loved ones, to prepare for the work ahead. Constant noise is proven to be a health hazard that takes years off your life.

You should stop expecting everyone to put up with your awful behavior, and buy some headphones. Shared space isn’t just your space. You’re the Karen.

  • I don’t know how I live with myself.

  • They are progressive black local leaders representing their community. Not racists. Not “corpo dems” haha.

And they are saying minorities, the elderly, and the poor are more likely to be undermined because of lack of resources to be made aware of said changes. They did it last year, and many people in those districts didn’t make a second vote. Which means their vote counted less than others.

Under voting isn’t a theory. It’s something that’s demonstrably occurred in these specific districts. They can see how people vote and notice that it is happening.

Saying one demographic is more likely to be left unaware of said changes, after looking at the data, and noting the negative impact, is not the same as saying “black people are stupid.” That’s where your mind went for some odd reason, though.

The local dem chapters in these types of districts aren’t Hilary Clinton, bro. They’re the opposite.

Nice try. You’re disingenuous and desperate AF.

There’s people who hate nuance, and there’s people who have a clear agenda. And they’re typically the same people. And that’s why you jumped straight to the “they’re racist corpos” when it’s objectively the opposite.

Just to be clear: I am generally for ranked choice. And I’m generally for calling out corporate dems. But I’m not cool with disingenuousness, even/especially from people I otherwise stand in agreement with on issues in general.

Calling these particular people racists is exactly what Trumpers would do. Btw. Same shitty playbook.

  • Sometimes someone needs to be “the Karen.” My neighbor’s dog barked all the time until 3am. I am too anti confrontational to do anything or say anything. But it really sucked. Someone kept confronting them, complaining, and talking to other neighbors about it, called the animal control etc. Shit eventually stopped. I couldn’t be bothered. But thankful for that person.

If everyone is “cool” and minds their own business all the time, some people take advantage and assume their shitty behavior is ok.

That same person who called about the dog, also got the super ugly RV that was taking up all the space on our tiny street with no parking towed. And it never came back.

    Thanks “Karen.”

Another time I was at the beach, and some parents were ignoring their kids just running into other groups and screaming at the top of their lungs. Like way over the top. Not typical levels of kids just having fun.

After a while a woman said something along the lines of “you know it’s fine that your kids are having fun, but they can have fun without the entire beach being about your kids. There’s other people here.” And I definitely agreed with that woman. They called her a Karen. I spoke up, and said isn’t it people who are so self oriented that they don’t think about the other people around them that are the Karens? I think that woman needed to hear that someone agreed with her. And I think those parents needed to hear they weren’t the center of the world just because they like cream pies.

  • Wait so you guys are disabling it or?

  • SMH. Read the article. Take a look the “racist” group making the argument in court:

    https://www.leadersofcolor.net/team/victor-horton

Here’s the head of DC dems Charles Wilson, who literally is listed in the article you read(?):

    https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5256c4_b5db7b16ba72415dba2c031483b0588b~mv2_d_1291_1291_s_2.jpeg/v1/fill/w_524,h_512,al_c,q_80,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/156623072117857016%20(2).jpeg

Here’s why they’re concerned (hint it’s not because they’re racist against themselves):

    https://archive.ph/rWKVm

When they tried this many people actually didn’t cast a second choice. Which gave more voting power to the other group. That’s all they are saying. And it’s not racist.

  • They didn’t even mention anyone not being able to vote because of race. They mentioned in court that certain areas that happen to have older voters, poorer voters, and black voters could be potentially undermined by ranked choice. And it’s proven to be true. As shown in previous elections time and time again. It is called undervoting.

    See:

    https://archive.ph/rWKVm

None of these commenters read the fucking article. You read the headlines and then jump straight to the hot takes, to spew about unrelated agendas.

The Democratic Party officials in DC are like 90% black.

Here are literally the actual people who made the argument in court. You. can see their pictures:

    https://www.leadersofcolor.net/team/victor-horton

Just to be clear: I’m for ranked choice. Their concern is not racist. And saying it is in this case means you didn’t read the article.

Here’s Charles Wilson - The leader of the DC democrats, who personally argued in court, as mentioned in the article you all didn’t read:

    https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5256c4_b5db7b16ba72415dba2c031483b0588b~mv2_d_1291_1291_s_2.jpeg/v1/fill/w_524,h_512,al_c,q_80,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/156623072117857016%20(2).jpeg

All I had to do was read the article to not come to the same conclusion as half the people in this thread. Community fail. This thread proves some people can’t be bothered to read. And that’s what the argument made in court was about - confusion.

  • They’ve been doing this talking about e-bike fatalities non-stop. “E-bikes are dangerous…. 42 people died on e-bikes…” they cite the statistics, but never mention how many of those people were ran over by assholes who don’t respect the danger of their cars.

  • He has the best lawyers. He has all the rights to defend himself. If he’s innocent he will have his day on court. Even the search of his home was signed by a trump appointed judge.

Stop pretending that being a politician disqualifies a person from justice. You are a fascist.

  • 13 felonies ads to my previous tally of 89. So 102 felonies. We can do better. Let’s get to 200.
