  • It depends on who you are, really.

If you're a poor, black woman living in Louisiana where the only work you can find is at a chemical plant, your life is going to fucking suck.

If you're upper-middle class living in a city, you're probably going to have a pretty good life.

There are some systems that are just awful by developed standards though. Education, medicine, policing, and politics come to mind. They're not likely to change, so you just have to cope with them. Basically just don't ever get sick or interact with the police. You'll probably die if you do either.

  • Fair enough, but if no one viewed/clicked on the ads then the internet would still need money to stay operational. They would figure out a way to either serve ads or do some other heinous shit to make money. So we need idiots who refuse ad blockers.

  • Those people subsidize our ability to use ad blockers, imagine if everyone used uBlock and ad companies started cracking down on it.

  • If you want to swap teams, Android has Revanced. Otherwise I don't think so.

  • Built-in features are much better, respects privacy (compared to Google), add-ons have more possibilities, etc.

  • KDE Connect is so good that there is a user-maintained version that works in GNOME as well.

  • Beat me to it lol. Recognized the art style immediately.

  • Not really that significant when you're using it, I promise. I'm usually all for speed, but FF has better functionality than the competition.

  • You can install add-ons, at least on the android version. One of them is Ublock!

  • "the government" lol. It was like one guy who just said it with 0 evidence.

  • The fact that its main 2 gimmicks are a shitty ad blocker and integrated cryptocurrency should be enough of a red flag, honestly. Just use Firefox, people!

  • I literally refuse to stop eating dairy even if it kills me. I love ice cream

  • White chocolate literally just tastes like sugar and fat. And "sour"??? What dark chocolate are you eating? This one actually pissed me off fr. Truly unpopular opinion.

  • Does exactly what you want it to do*

*Until you encounter a broken or buggy package, then you have to fix it lol

  • I'm just hoping either Fairphone irons out it's kinks or legislation catches up with removable batteries and locked-down operating systems. I'm tired of feeling like I'm owning a device just until the manufacturer decides to turn it into e-waste.

  • The way Lemmy is structured is basically communist reddit. Most people who use it are aware of this, and enjoy it for that reason.

  • Used to happen to me, one day it just stopped. Updates sometimes bork things.

  • She wasn't a protestor, she vomited while recounting being forced to carry a miscarriage and nearly dying as a result. She was just one of 3 who had similar stories who testified. Texas republicans are moving to dismiss their concerns. Not really a "both sides" situation.
