  • My dude, your argument boils down to "this is the way we've always done it so this is the way it must be".

Have you considered the possibility that if innovation were to slow, and companies DIDN'T insist on quarter-after-quarter growth, the world might just continue to turn? That while the richest individuals may be slightly less rich, the vast majority of people would continue their lives with no negative consequences?

  • Every other fucking loan can be discharged with bankruptcy, but I don't see you dumbasses complaining about when some 1%er buys a company, runs it into the ground, and then washes their hands of it by declaring bankruptcy.

  • Please explain how the Secretary of Education using powers explicitly granted by an act passed by Congress is unconstitutional. Or is that just a word you like to use to mean "something I don't agree with and have been told to hate"?

  • Seems a lot like he gave up. What we got instead can't be called half measures. Hell, they can't even be called quarter measures.

Oh, you made it so for 6 months, non-payments don't hit your credit? What happens after those 6 months? And interest continues to accrue during that time so you'll find yourself more underwater than before.

Oh, you reduced the percent of income that is to be spent on paying off the debt? Did you adjust the interest rates too? No? So you're extending people's length of debt. Cool.

This isn't even tossing a bandaid at the problem. It's handing someone a self-help book while they're on the ground bleeding out.

  • Why do either matter in the bathroom? How does the sex of someone else change how you pee or poop?

There are already laws in place to prevent people from harassing others in the bathroom, regardless of sex. I just don't understand. There are SO many contradictions in the belief that banning trans people from the bathroom of their choosing is even worth discussion.

Are you worried about girls and women being uncomfortable in the bathroom around someone who looks like a guy? Ok, so if a ban is in place, they now have to share the bathroom with trans men who look a hell of a lot more like a guy than a trans woman.

Is it about preventing people who may be attracted to others from sharing space in the bathroom? First, gross, it's a bathroom; only pervs go looking for any kind of sexual gratification there (and again, there's already laws that cover this). Second, gay people exist, so it's kind of a moot point to ban trans people.

It just seems like any concern used to justify a trans bathroom ban would still exist even if a ban was in place. I mean, unless of course the only concern is "trans people have too many rights in our society" in which case, kindly, fuck right off.

  • Oh look, it's DWS. The woman who orchestrated the 2016 DNC primaries to be so blatantly biased towards Clinton that it turned a lot of voters away and is partially responsible for Trump winning.

And here I thought the earth has opened up beneath her feet and swallowed her years ago.

  • Less than a day between "conservatives arent all bad guys, stop being so mean" to literally defending Nazi's.

Yea bud, I'll just go ahead and use you as an example of exactly why people feel the way they do in this thread.

  • My favorite thing is when a conservative finds themselves outside of one their safe-space, echo chambers and are shocked to discover that not only do regular people not agree with them, but they find their views so abhorrent that they actively view all conservatives as complete pieces of shit. And they are not wrong to do so.
