  • Bet a board member tried to explain to him what DEI is two minutes before he Xat this Xeet.

Muskrat’s diversity plan is “exploit Indians who rely on Xitter visa sponsorship”

  • He walks around with a security detail. No way anyone can get close to him that hasn’t been vetted. Just send a small drone towards his fat ass. There is no way they can stop an entire swarm of drones.

  • Why not use the European system where you have to use a coin to unlock the cart from the stack. People are more likely to return the cart if it costs them money if they don’t and if they still leave the cart out some kid or hobo will return it eventually.

  • IDF is an army of amateurs with expensive gear. Just read that article of the BBC about the women who were watching the Gaza border. The IDF only gave young women that job and didn’t even arm them. Then when these young women reported suspicious Hamas activity along the border for months on end the warnings were ignored basically because they were young and female. Of course when Hamas broke trough they were the first to get killed.

  • imho I have never experienced really good writing in any FF mainline game. Like they all have very creative and cool story arcs but it's the execution that ruins it for me. The dialogues and characters are always so cringe af, you can basically tell that the writers have based their writing framework solely on lowbrow manga. Which is fine when the dialogues weren't voiced since you could speed read trough the dialogues. Like I thought 6 and 7 were decent and 9 was okay (8 was annoying emo teen angst drama). But once they started voicing the dialogues and added longer cut scenes the bad writing just stuck out like a sore thumb. 10 was just really bad even though I loved 10 for the gameplay. I even skipped 12 because of that. With 13 they improved a bit, but with 15 they slid back almost to the level of the dialogues of 8. I haven't played 16 yet but from the trailers I've seen and based on opinions of my friends who've played it I don't have hope that the dialogues are any better.

And also Octopath and Forspoken just proofs that Square just can't write good characters and dialogues. Even when they hire non-Japanese writers. They need to look at Naughty Dog and Larian for how it's done. Neil Druckmann adheres to "Simple story complex characters" with his writing which makes his stories always compelling. While Square, and Japanese video game writers in general, always does the opposite.

  • Are you forgetting how often European nations fell apart and had many civil wars and change of government forms? Don't you remember the Yugoslav Wars? Even the Kingdom of the Netherlands is younger than the United States. The USA has a continuous democracy since 1789

  • I think China won’t start a physical war with Taiwan since that will mean economic suicide. They will slowly try to take over Taiwan via the inside. Trough subterfuge Xi will try to install its pawns in critical places. We’ve already seen them trying it in Australia, but they were caught because they were too brazen. They’ve probably learned from that and are more careful now. It’s probably going to be a multi generational operation. China has time on their side.

  • Plus all that foot traffic in the business districts, where nobody lives btw because of dumb zoning laws, will increase the real estate value because of the ancillary businesses that arise in that district to serve that stream of people.

When people stop going into those business districts those smaller ancillary businesses, like the shops and restaurants, will of course go bankrupt first. Which in turn will lower the value of those offices. And since the companies that own those building are using that real estate value to secure loans, they will be put at risk. It’s basically a house of cards that will collapse. Simply because people are working remotely and outdated zoning laws.

It’s why San Francisco’s business district is turning into a ghost town.

  • Besides the privacy concerns that have already been addressed, you probably need to be able to repair the phone yourself when it breaks. No after sale service when you take that phone back home. So that means you need to be able to buy parts from AliExpress or whatever.
