Just read an article somebody stole 40k from an atm. How is that possible that an atm carries that much? And is it even possible to get inside an ATM if so?

  • Less that the meme is older than them, probably more so they don't realize why we torrent Linux iso's.

    I can pull down an ISO in seconds over torrent, whole it takes minutes over https. Also it's nice to add some of the good stuff to the traffic, if only to pad all the illegal traffic with some legitimate stuff.

    • IPhones' default photo format is HEIC, something that Windows doesn't open by default.

  • Someone tried to send me a picture they took and it looked like hot garbage until they sent it over email. Not because it couldn't be sent without feeding it through a potato first, because Apple wants a worse experience for anyone not in their ecosystem.

    When they are the oddball in the group though, it just makes iPhone's look like a worse option.

  • This totally isn't what you're asking for, but I absolutely love the 8bitdo adapter 2 thing (https://www.8bitdo.com/usb-wireless-adapter-2/) pair your DS4 controller to it and then just plug in the dongle. I haven't found anything it doesn't work on, but mainly I pop it between a pi3, pi400, and my LMDE desktop.

    So handy.

  • Oh wow, that's pretty awesome (not the debilitating neural damage part), I was always under the impression that by the first symptom it was a death sentence.

    I still never want anything to do with it, but at least it isn't as bleak as I had been lead to believe.

  • Just have to chime in and say 100% fatal once symptomatic. I really hope someone corrects me but I'm pretty sure there has never been a confirmed case with a recovery; we have a treatment that works, but has to be given relatively soon after exposure.

  • Much like good old MySQL, it's named for its creator and the last name My is pronounced 'me'. At least that's what I remember hearing or reading somewhere... I'm sadly too uncultured to know for sure (never made it that far around the globe).
