Idk if own is the correct term but the US regulates most native birds through the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and Falconry has a special exclusion from that act. But it's along the same lines as just because a deer is in your yard it doesn't mean you own that deer. You need permission from the government to take it.
Oranges have been some of the most inconsistent fruit for me tbh. A good orange is great, but it's just as likely to be tasteless or sour. I do live far from orange farms though, so that's probably the issue.
I also have a 980TI. I think mine might be dying though, sometimes my PC shuts off and sometimes it doesn't start up. One particular time I got it started again by removing my GPU. I just want it to last another year but we'll see.
I don't even need to do that. Buy bitcoin until it hits $1200, sell, buy again once it drops to like $300ish, sell when it hits $50k. Ez billions. I could have mined it in high school when it was like 10c each. Buying it would have been harder then, people were literally trading USB drives on Craigslist lol.
Technically the US government owns the birds, but two of these are mine and one is my wife's who is also a licensed falconer. We purchased them from licensed breeders. They are from, left to right, Nevada, Washington, Louisiana. They were shipped to us on an airplane and we picked them up at the airport.
Most of the rabbit goes back into feeding them over the summer when they are molting their feathers. I do make 2-3 rabbit dishes a year though. Last year I made sausage which was pretty good.
Falconry. It's really more of a lifestyle than a hobby now though. I've been doing it for a little over 10 years now and am currently flying a cast (group of birds flown together) of 3 Harris's Hawks.
Quick faqs:
I use the glove and everything
It's a hunting sport, we catch rabbits 3-5 times a week
We all go out together, I flush they catch
No, they do not bring what they catch back to me, I go to them
They don't eat the whole rabbit, I trade them a small reward
They are completely free flighted when doing this
I've trained them just enough to get them back and work with me, they know how to do bird things naturally
They don't really go for your eyes, and getting bit hurts 50x less than getting footed
They are not rescues and are perfectly healthy
Mine are captive bred, but some are wild trapped
Wild trapping has 0 effect on native populations, 50-90% of raptors don't make it through their first year
Even though mine are captive bred they are still wild animals, they are just tamed.
OP, just bite the bullet and go to Yellowstone. I live in Illinois and have been to several of these other parks / areas. Yellowstone is on a completely different level and it's not even close. It is one of the best, if not the best, parks in the world. This is not an exaggeration.
Saving a specific creature is probably not as effective as saving a specific ecosystem anyway. What are you accomplishing saving an animal without saving its food or what it needs for shelter?
Ya, that's why most funding goes into charismatic mega fauna. It's a lot easier to say that grizzly bears need all of this land protected and then protect other animals in that land, than to try and protect one clam in a small part of a river. It's an umbrella strategy, protecting one animal to protect the others in it's ecosystem. And protecting old growth forests? They already listed the spotted owl and that's what they are doing. Basically the only old growth forest left in the US is spotted owl habitat, and tons of money goes into legal battles to keep the forest standing. I would be very careful of supporting budget cuts to these umbrella species in favor of smaller, more fragmented projects.
It's calling out hypocrisy, not support. It's also bringing attention to how short sighted the GOPs plans are. If they support bills that hurt themselves in unintentional ways, how can we trust them to pass bills that work in their intended manner?
Ya, there is literally endless amounts of content to consume. The fact that anybody at all thinks that watching you is better than the endless media pile is awesome.
I have about 800 YouTube subscribers and that took about 10 years for me to get with my very niche hobby videos. I think it's awesome that people take the time out to watch and comment. I would never blame the people watching for my view counts, that would be so silly.
I mostly agree with your disdain for DC, because they truly have terrible movies, but the new suicide squad was good and the series Peacemaker was also very good.
My family has a few houses they rent out. Not nearly enough income to live off of as they all have other jobs, but it's some. As a rule, an empty apartment is better than a bad tenant. Not only will a bad tenant not pay and take months to remove, they will actively destroy the place causing thousands in damages. "Just sue them" someone may say. Well, they don't have any money for rent, they surely don't have 10 months of rent + $4k in repair + legal fees. Sure, we can garnish their wages. What's 5% of $0 in reported income per month?
Yes, some landlords deserve the hate they get but let's not pretend everyone is the perfect tenant either. The people of Walmart need to live somewhere.
I actually like the generic mini wheats better. I much prefer the generic cinnamon toasts too. The name brands taste weird to me now, like they have too much iron in them or something. Tastes metallic to me.
