  • I had to stop watching how other people use computers for my own sanity. Even people who use computers (allegedly) 40 hours a week for the past 20 years are no better than those chimps who learned to touch squares on a screen. If a triangle pops up they start throwing shit.

But I no longer assume a user knows anything. If someone asked me what a curser was I wouldn't even blink. The only thing that really annoys me is a refusal to try anything. I don't even care if you learn about what you are doing, at least try what I'm telling you.

  • I complained enough at my business that we turned off fast boot. I haven't had to have a conversation about restart vs shutdown in like a year now which is sweet, but my own computer takes significantly longer to start up so jokes on me I guess.

  • Maybe I should watch House. I love Lucifer and every episode is basically

    Lucifer has a problem
    Someone else has a problem
    Lucifer makes his problem worse
Someone else makes their problem better
Lucifer uses the solution from someone to make his problem better, usually after making an epiphany quip
    Lucifer learns nothing

  • I didn't see anyone mention this, but while this headset depicts the outside world when you are wearing it, you are viewing a camera feed of that world. True AR would be like google glass where it is a piece of glass with data projected onto it. Apples thing recreates the world around you and then adds in the applications, you are viewing the world through a filter.

It could also just be marketing too because it seems like they are trying really hard to not make this look like some nerd shit.

  • As with many animal-related jobs, the low pay probably manages to automatically filter down applicants to only compassionate people that just want to help the little floofs. It's a step above volunteer (of which many are present anyway).

Ya, the posting is like this because they will still get tons of extremely qualified applicants. There are tons of IT, office, construction, whatever jobs, but there are not many "Work with or around wolves" jobs. They will probably get people with Masters degrees applying for this, maybe Ph.D. I applied for an animal control position and that was the case there.

  • Ya, captain marvel flies into and then out of a star at the end of the movie. Her stopping something dead in its tracks is peanuts compared to that.

Edit, I actually watched the clip this time, she gets knocked back a little bit catching the ship. There is nothing silly here at all.
