  • I've been honked at the instant a light has turned green. So fast that I didn't go because they surely must have been honking for something else. Most drivers are reasonable but if you've never seen a driver lose their shit then you haven't driven long enough.

  • I complained enough at my work about this that we shut off fast boot domain wide. I haven't had to have a "I know that you just turned your computer on but I need you to restart it. No, not shutdown and turn on, restart. Yes, they are different things." conversation in a couple years. Funnily enough I haven't seen anyone complain about the significantly longer start up times. I guess people just expect that from windows lol.

  • He profited from the secret service (and by proxy, us) the whole time he was president when he made them pay full price to have rooms at his garbage resort in Florida.

I don't think this is true. I thought he increased the standard rate and charged them that. So it was like, double price.

Quick edit: I just looked it up, it was allegedly 4-5 times the approved government hotel rate.

  • Falconry can involve tons of different skills. Mews (aviary) and giant hood (travel box) can use carpentry. Hoods/other gear -> leather working. Bells -> metallurgy. Perches -> metalwork and woodturning. Drone / kite flying maybe depending on bird. One guy makes his own telemetry. Lots of designing for the many little things needed. Almost everything needed is handcrafted or repurposed from something. I use 3d printing for my giant hoods, whistles, and anklet templates. Also like, animal training and hunting stuff for the raptor.

But falconry is not a casual activity, it's truly a lifestyle. Because of that, there are a lot of falconer couples, or, divorced falconers. So uh, make sure your partner is really into it before going in deep.

  • Hawks used by falconers wild up very quickly after release. Heck, every falconer has had their bird act similar to what you described here after messing up a free flight. It's probably just a hawk that has acclimated to people though. It would be really rare to find a released bird.

  • Sorry, I'm sure there are other features that you like for this, but just the ones in this thread; long life, always on display, shows the time, sits on a desk, no notifications. That's a clock. Like, a clock clock. Put a clock on your desk.

  • Buy a bird dog.
WTF, this dog is OBSESSED with birds.
    Let dog run loose.
    Dog catches birds.
Bird dog is happy for catching birds.
    UNACCEPTABLE!
    Shoot dog.

Nobody understands, this dog was a maniac around birds!
