  • Yes, she's my voice, but she says things in a similar tone to a bully. She's not an actual voice and I recognise her as just a part of myself.

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

How do I deal with a very negative inner voice/second conscience that's constantly loud? It's like I have two different people in my head but they're both me, telling me opposite things endlessly.

  • UK and the lollipops were Swizzels Fruity Pops. Can't remember how many of them there were but I'd say about 50 in a large container.

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

I found a container filled with lolipops that I didn't touch for years. It smelled like hand sanitizer and the bottom of the container had this thick clear goo. WTF is it?

Why have all my gmail passwords (and ONLY my gmail passwords) been deleted since I restarted my computer?

    No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

Is it normal that my world views, opinions of myself, and mood changes extremely rapidly (within seconds/minutes) several times per day?

Is it weird I sleep with an old blanket I've had since I was a young girl?

  • It's not depression it's more like.. "am I a good or a bad person" "I'm bad" "okay maybe I'm good" "no, I'm bad" "am I mature enough to handle this I'm immature" "no I'm mature" "no I'm immature I can't handle a relationship" "I'm lonely I need someone" "no I don't need someone, I don't deserve someone" "everyone's better than me" stuff like that in rapid succession, constantly alternating as an inner voice kind of thing

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

I want a boyfriend, but I feel like I don't deserve to have one, and I keep alternating between those two thoughts which is making me feel confused. Is this normal?

  • I never forget a face

  • Caffeine does this, but the effect is temporary. There's a rare condition called Morvan Syndrome, where there is a case of a person with it going without any sleep for 4 months, and had no cognitive impairment. Normally a person would die after 11 days. Seems like this condition messes with the inhibitory synapses so it might also mess with how adenosine affects the brain as well. 10% of cases lead to death though

  • It's referring to plain adenosine. When adenosine builds up in the brain, the only way for the brain to get rid of the accumulation of it is by sleeping because it activates the glymphatic system, where CSF is used to flush out the waste/byproducts. If you don't sleep, the adenosine continues to accumulate in the brain with nowhere to go.

  • Today I Learned @lemmy.world

TIL we need sleep because waste products such as adenosine, which make us feel sleepy, build up while we're awake. Without sleep we die from our brain overdosing itself on its "sleeping pills"

  • That's why stunt doubles are popular..

  • Could pec flexes keep a person awake like that though? I've slept on a loud plane before and through pain.

  • Personally, I wouldn't risk it. It could cause arguments or cause you to feel worse. I'd just let it go tbh :|

  • She's looking to mention her brain fog and how she needs it to improve on her next appointment. It's often prescribed for brain fog in some places. Her brain fog is bad enough that directions like left/right take up to 5 seconds to compute and she keeps telling me how embarrassing it is

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

How good are amphetamines for brain fog?

Why do some people say "I wouldn't want a government to dictate what I eat"? This would mean they'd be against food safety regulations, would it not? Context was the idea of a government banning meat
