  • I personally judge that game as plain bad with decent shooting and ok loot. The main story, and the game universe in general, are memorable for how stupidly thought out they are, even for the low standards of Bethesda post Oblivion. The citizens and assorted non-hostile npcs feel less alive than the people you run over in GTA games. They also managed to take the fun basebuilding of Fallout 4 and make it bad AND pointless - very little customization and freedom of certain objects' placements, plus you're better off just buying resources from vendors.

  • Pretty much every korean MMORPG released from 2006-2014, as they were desperately trying to be "World of Warcraft, but better". Perfect World, Aion, ArcheAge, 4story, Granado Espada, etc etc etc, even when you have the better experience of playing on a private server with significantly less P2W (as in, nearly everyone gets most of the shop for free)

To me, personally, ArcheAge would be the best fit for "dead medium quality". It boasts naval combat, which is meh; player run trade caravans, which probably only worked as intended in the first 2 months after launch; limits on gathering and crafting, which just forces free players to buy premium; graphics are the generic korean mmo variety, pretty but almost impossible to distinguish between games; music, enemies, dungeons and most gear exist

  • If there's a new way
\ I'll be the first in line
\ But it better work this time

  • The billionaires do, otherwise their tiny little egos will shatter for not feeling speshul

  • Congrats, Harjeet, on being a piece of shit. Doesn't even matter if it's fake and gay like greentexts, this kind of thought is a cancer

  • The metric is "how much does this tool does the assignment for you". A translator does zero (I'm assuming a translator at classes, though any "translate this" assignment coupled with google translate or similars would make this fit in with AI). Computers made the writing and copy-pasting part easier and faster, but they didn't do the assignment. Google made the "find the correct stuff" easy, you no longer needed to manually look thru several books or ask people where the answer would be, but you still had to find it. Still, if an assignment asked for something that wasn't perfectly answered on some page on the internet, like some random equation or specific programming code, you'd still have to work out something.

With AI, you just throw the prompt and copy the result. "A patient arrived and has complained about severe chest pain. What procedures should be executed in which order?" - Don't know, don't care, AI wrote something, so it must be true. Copypaste, send, done.
\ That leads to the point where, if the people who are supposed to actually know stuff only pretend to know thanks to AI covering their asses, why should anyone bother with them? Skip the literal middleman and just ask an AI the same thing they'd ask and be done with it. "AI doc, I feel like my heart is burning, what do I do?" - Is the answer right or wrong? Don't know, don't care, the person who should didn't, either.

  • Ah yes, because translators also did the homework for the students

  • Kolibri, which only needs a handful of RAM and disk space

  • "I wish for all wishes made after this one to fail spectacularly"

  • After we hear about Carthage, sure thing

  • Hell, imagine if Apple finally woke up to gaming and made a Mac Deck. Now that would shake things up.

They have the hardware (any current gen iphone or ipad), they only need to release a version with console-like controller buttons, but they lack the willingness to really invest in games. Apple arcade is a joke compared to nearly everything else on offer.

  • Depending on the specs, I might be paying more for those, even used, than a SBC. The joys of Brazilian tech markets...

  • Ugh, i've had to write some Selenium tests where I had to come up with weird ass Xpaths because not a single fucking element had an ID and over half would spawn something in a different div
