They're starting to use sets where, instead of having greenscreen, the walls are giant LED screens where they display the background. This way the director has complete control of what is going on in the scene in the moment. (also, with greenscreen you can get a weird green reflection on the actors that needs to be corrected for).
I'm not sure a collection that one person is in charge of maintaining is the best way to go. Communities organizing themselves into some kind of structure seems more in keeping with the spirit of the fediverse.
If you're going to use Google Translate, take the text it gives you and feed it back in to see if it translates back into English correctly.
