  • you're mad... have you any idea what you've done??

  • just now realizing that .tar files aren't compressed by default, and that that's the reason why it's always .tar.gz

  • shooting people is still illegal, even if you have a justification. also cops regularly shoot people to prevent crimes considerably less severe. that's not the standard used at all.

my point is that it's a contradiction in terms to say that the things that the edifice of law exists to protect and uphold are themselves illegal. it's a fallacy shared by the sovereign citizen and related movements, who believe that law is a real thing that exists in the ideal world, which can nevertheless be wielded to effect the physical world.

  • this is about as strong an argument as "cops are actually illegal because they shoot people, which is illegal."

  • Real 18th century hours, we bringin back piracy on the high seas

  • i mean that's literally it. None of this shit is genuinely controversial, it's just the ambient neurosis of the internet that someone out there wants you crucified for your banal identity-forming habits.

  • lol what are we gonna do when we find them? tell them kindly but firmly to leave?

  • nonsense, picking a lock is extremely sexy

  • Yeah, the lifestyle coach is an inherently evil breed. Unhappy young people don't need a talking head to tell them to buy the book and listen to the podcast, they need friends. Even just a discord where you can get relationship advice from people who have actually been in a healthy relationship is way more valuable.

  • If you pay attention, you'll notice how many of these discussions will go like

"If you think China is a perfect utopia, then how do you explain that something bad happened there?"

"I don't think it's a utopia. Yeah that bad thing seems bad."

"So you accept that China is literally Mordor then?"

    "What"

  • "the exception that proves the rule" doesn't just mean any evidence against your point is actually evidence for your point. it means that something is only notable because it's usually rare.

  • No, I'm not Chinese. China is not important to my politics at all. That's like the first thing I said if you scroll up.

  • I believe that's normal for breeding hogs, yes

  • I haven't seen that movie, does a pig shit on its own balls?

  • I don't really care whether or not China is communist, or if other people think it's communist for various esoteric reasons. It doesn't effect me either way. State Department propaganda and warmongering does effect me though.

  • The Fountainhead is a novel about an American architect that has nothing to do with China. They're doing a weird bit, presumably about how evil tankies asking them to read books is cheating.
