There are Twitter-->Fedi bots you can follow for most "notable" figures. Obviously you can't interact with them and you'll only see replies from other "notable" figures, but I see that as a bonus.
Your "point" is shit. Backing people into a corner and then claiming that your choice is "acceptable" because they didn't go somewhere else is bullshit.
While 30% is high it seems developers consider it acceptable since number of games Steam releases is not reducing.
Yeah that's not how that works. Acceptable or not, if you want to sell your games, they have to be on Steam because that's where people are buying them.
Yes, but so much more. An actually useful assistant that could draft emails, set reminders appropriately, create automations, etc. would be worth A LOT of money to me.
Epic only has a lower cut because they're leveraging their undoubtedly massive Chinese investments to gain market share. You can rest assured they would charge 30% if they could.
I don't like that Steam or Apple or Google charge 30%. I think it's absurd. But also Valve is basically a saint compared to every modern corporation so I don't think twice about it.
I do not understand the position where companies first provide a good service and and than later reduces the experience and functionality.
Twitter has taught us that the vast majority, once committed to a platform, will tolerate endless abuse and never leave. So companies treat you real nice to get you in the door so they can piss all over you later.
Do a search for "embrace extend extinguish" to learn more.
I mean it sounds a whole lot like the same thing...
