  • I hate to break it to you, but Biden is definitely a corporate hack.

For sure, but that is my fault for not adding context.

I wasn't referencing a political party, but a mindset any political leader. I would hope that most leaders would make smart decisions.

But my personal belief is that most governments operate on a sense of Narcissism or Egoism.

Which can still be useful, but not if for every dumb evil choice (Roe V Wade) that is made, 50 dumb evil problems are created.

    Who can respect that?

  • I think they're both. I don't treat my politicians like Good vs. Evil.

But as smart evil vs. dumb evil.

Some of these guys have failed upwards so long just by doing the same cost cutting measures they always had. It's the only strategy that has worked for them for 75+ years.

Only this time it isn't working.

Rather then change their mindset, they will let America Rot and the rest of the world will outpace us in our hubris. I consider this a dumb evil situation.

  • The problem with these guys isn't that they are old, it is that their way of dealing with problems is outdated.

    • They thought that $400 was enough to cover people for months of lost Covid wages.
    • They still think oil is "the most perfect energy in the world"
    • They think college is still $1200 for the experience
    • They think $7.50 is more then enough to cover housing, car, essentials.
    • No reality on global warming. Because it isn't going to effect them.
  • However, Sanad’s investigation shows that this is simply the access hatch for a water reservoir that the hospital uses to fill therapeutic pools for amputees, water the grounds, and a reserve water source in case of emergency.

Sanad analysed satellite footage and archives of the hospital’s construction and spoke to one of the original engineers who built it.

    It's pretty in depth.

However I have two problems with this logic.

    1. Israel did not confirm the existence of tunnels at that location, which would have been an easy thing to do with a camera and 2 minutes.
    2. This isn't exactly proof that those areas weren't repurposed for tunnels. Just that what Israel thought was a tunnel was not. Which is more of a problem of how the Israel military is assuming too much and bombing people in the process. While processing their assumptions like fact.
  • Free speech!

    Hang mike Pence!

    Blow up Iran!

    Nuke China!

    Invade Syria!

Maybe I am not comfortable killing civilians when we could use doctors and humanitarian aid workers as spies to root out hostages then coordinate surgical strikes against Hamas instead of indiscriminately bombing locations with no intel.

Monster! How could you be so bloodthirsty!

We should take away your free speech! Because we stand for that kind of thing now.

  • I'll keep an ear to the ground.

But I don't like that $90 preorder logic at all, it's almost weird it exists.

I try to imagine going to a gamestop and a gaming associate was like, buy that game 3 days later and I'll give you $20.

Skip the in game pet and mount, that most people forget exists after the expansion, and I'll make that $40

But then.... why does this system exist?!

  • Dare I google into the unknown and ask the void what the hell is a hexbear?

  • Which they are more then free to deploy.... at a cost.

Sadly any country is going to have to weigh the cost of war, the cost of losing that war, the cost of losing personnel/equipment in that war, and the cost of basically ruining the physical assets they are trying to collect due to sabotage, collateral damage, misfires, and "misappropriation."

Sadly by the time they are done, the market value of those assets would be purely theoretical at best, if any value at all.

So it doesn't make sense for a country like China to invade the greater portion of Africa. But they might try sting operations, or devaluing of African assets within their own market to put pressure.

The risks being that the "belt and road" initiative might fall through too whatever the choice.

  • Interesting.

However the article alludes to two things.

The age range for this study was 65 and older. That has to be taken with a grain of salt, most of these people are not as fit as they used to be.

Even after controlling for smoking, elderly cannabis users having CVD risk had 20% more MACCE events encountered than non-users. Cannabis use in older non-smokers deserves investigation into CVD. risks

However, the study doesn't show any evidence of increased failure among people who smoke monthly or weekly, but on those who smoke daily. Which also might by synonymous with substance abuse. Which the author alludes to but does make a mention of.

That being said, this article doesn't really go in depth and a lot of information is hidden on the surface. I would love to deep dive into the main article research paper if you have it. Because there does seem to be a few pieces of the puzzle are missing.

  • Union members will get whatever increases were locked in last year, which vary. That means that many workers will get the 3% or 4% hike, and some the 5%, even if they are unionized. But the company will not offer new increases in pay, or vacation accrual benefits, to unionized workers — unless it is forced to concede those based on collective bargaining negotiations.

Not to be mean, but a 5% increase on a $15 an hour job is like an extra $0.75.

Did they think this was bargain power? What the people who are non-unionized every year get a free soda? And that was supposed to make them jealous?

I think they are poking a bear, they should be leaving alone.

  • Covering APIs, AI-driven translators and other tools based on their proprietary large language model, it is already collaborating with some of the best-known experts in the field, including at AI21 Labs, Google, and Microsoft.

Imagine AI being able to instantly check whether a post violates the terms of service (TOS) of the specific platform where it’s made.

Imagine the ability to report said post on the spot.

And if it doesn’t violate the TOS, to instantly generate the best counterargument?

Kind of a weird apocalyptic way to kick humans off the internet:

When online opinions no longer matter because, he who has the strongest computer, will have the best AI. Which will also have the best public opinion(s).

At that point, only places where people can confirm you are a real human will matter.

  • It would feel more dangerous if there was proof. Unfortunately, because it is just Russia, it is more then likely false.

Which I fear is just going to make Russia posturing even more dangerous.

  • According to two sources familiar with the matter and another person briefed on Team Trump’s legal strategies, the former president and his lawyers are intentionally trying to provoke the judge into a nuclear-level overreaction.

    This? Is the plan?

That's like saying you're going to kill a dragon by hopping into its mouth.

  • Hitting the breaks on this whole mess is the first step. I will most certainly not call this a victory for just beginning.

But at least now the people in power understand that this is a problem. Versus the previous mindset of:" kill all humans, full speed ahead."

Focus on making your communities great, having great conversations, seeing something from a different lens. People like Steven King hang out in great places, so focus on making this a great place to visit.

  • But during some of those conversations, managers have told staffers they should not expect to influence U.S. policy on Israel-Palestine regardless of their national security chops, according to five current and one recently departed State Department officials who talked to HuffPost.

Keep in mind, that Biden has asked for a humanitarian cease fire in Gaza. This information is like fresh of last night, so I don't expect news agencies to catch up fast.

It looks like Biden is lagging behind public opinion on this one, but he is turning course.

What that means going forward will depend on how much aid is let in Gaza by Israel.

  • You cannot ask direct questions like: Do you want to overthrow the dictator? And expect a realistic answer in a dictatorship.

You also cannot ask a question like: Should Russia keep it's territories? Because if you are in a dictatorship, you can go to prison for the wrong answer.

You can lose your job if what you say can be taken from the wrong context.

Merely the fear that such reprisal exists, means that the overwhelming population cannot answer truthfully, even if they wanted to.

So I would take these polls with a grain of salt.

  • Democrats voted to keep him in place. Nineteen lawmakers voted present, 15 of them Democrats.

I know why they are doing this, because they want to run against him in the next election.

But, that is some seriously fucked up shit. This guys is a con artist and should not be in a position of power.

  • “Someone else offered much more, so what? Now they come up with something called ‘disgorgement.’ I never even heard of the term. WITCH HUNT!!! ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!” Trump wrote.

Disgorgement is a remedy requiring a party who profits from illegal or wrongful acts to give up any profits they made as a result of that illegal or wrongful conduct. The purpose of this remedy is to prevent unjust enrichment and make illegal conduct unprofitable.

Congratulations, both me, you, and Donald Trump learned something new today.

  • The departments of Justice and Homeland Security are partnering with campus law enforcement to track hate-related threats and provide federal resources to schools, according to the plan, which was shared exclusively with NBC News.

So pretty much doing what they were already doing. Just being more proactive against people that were considering violence.

I don't think this is a wrong measure. We are not ruled by lynch mobs, hunting witches.

People should be logical and rational against such hurtful opinions, but I think death against such individual crosses a line of morals that just hurts any productive solutions we could come up with.
