  • exactly. not only is it mainly made of their money with whatever retirement and such from those doing better in the middle being a pittance in comparison but they also aren't really investing and just holding it there because there is no real other option. Meanwhile as wealth disparity gets worse less of the regular folk even have anything in it. So it goes up because people who have money don't have anywhere else to put it. Should be interesting once we see the us market doing poorly while europe and asia do alright or if the bond markets falls apart.

  • You know looking at her comments it might have still be spurred by something like that. She just sorta explained what her characters last comment was (its hard to describe this comic because the scenarios are often things that just happened in their life but its a comic of it so even as I use the word character it feels wierd)

  • Sorry no. Not in some time but one thing I did not mention is zorin uses ubuntu stable. Main complaint with people is old because it by no means tries to be bleeding edge. So it is relatively good on older hardware although its not a lightweight distro made to handle very old hardware. So I don't know how well it will do on a mac book pro but im betting it will do as well as any other.

  • I like zorin. Comes with libre office, disc burning, rdp client, play on linux to make running via wine easy, windows like interface. Its a nice out of the box distro for installing and going. Its an ubuntu spin and they only make the changes necessary for the look to be windows like and then the out of the box software so otherwise it pretty much behaves like ubuntu. Its a good lazy mans distro.

  • Not if its the home nation. Shell was a us company in venezuela but if the same thing happened in the US the owners would be lucky to get out of the country with what they could carry and if they worked fast enough maybe they could have a small fraction of what they used to.

  • This is a pretty good example of why I say even millinoaires and billionaires should support a functional democractic society with taxation and regulation and social safety nets. Its the old penny wise and pound foolish. Getting a sliver more and a sliver more and then you lose it all because the rule of law was thrown out long ago. It won't necessarily take that long to. At a certain point it could happen at any time. Maybe it will. Maybe it won't.

  • Im not looking to be a dictator. I exercise what power I have to push for democracy and human rights. Its been back and forth and on a losing trend but things have been worse and been up ended for the better in the past. I am inspired by the people who have marched and stood by me. There is nothing stopping their tricks but in the end they need the consent of the elected if they want an orderly flourishing society.

  • Yeah I was just explaining why I think the disconnect shows up between percentage and the number. Its why as you get to the end each percentage become significant as it means just a bit more insulation, batter size, panel efficiency, appliance efficiency might bridge the gap. You get in the nineties and its that one most brutal month that it can't handle.

  • I like to peruse all and just block anything I have no interest in. People get wiereded about blocking but subscribing is functionally the same as blocking everything you did not subscribe to. I would love something like wiki foundations trust cafe as part of the federation where you can assign a 0 to 100 value for things but in the meantime figure if your really into something you subscribe (100) and if you don't care about it all block (0) and everything else is basically then a 50.
