I don't see how you think its noise. Many items from amazon come from an amazone warehouse and delivered by amazon. they don't exclusively do it this way but this is how they have the same day and few day shipping. I remember when amazon went from mostly being a book site to selling everything and people were gaga about 2 day shipping and when same day shipping came to some metros it was talked about a lot. I think the main thing is the other guy mentioned logistics and aws but forgot to mention the warehouse and shipping part of the logistics.

I agree. I did not vote for him in the first primary but he has been spectacular and now has my vote for as long as he will stick around and keep doing good work. Kamalas veep impressed me to once I got to know him. I was worried pritzker would get the vp nod at one point and we would lose him. I think his money is what kept that from happening.

I think I did not quite write it well as I got like waynes world and some others. I sorta meant where the characters would fit as decent representatives of the generation. Typical or idealized experiences or something.

My older brother is like that for boomers. He is a really young boomer. Its actually pretty telling how different his life is from the older boomers and how different it is for me as an Xer and how different I see it for younger folks. Basically the farther you go the better but you want to be born after the great depression. Even earlier aint bad. It sucked as a kid but as long as the postwar boom happens by like 16 its all better and better going forward. Except for the whole draft thing. In some ways it would be great where the draft was officially called off when you turned 17 so you lost the stress of the draft. You would have lost a lot of the largess but you could just squeeze into the point in time where a college degree was a bit optional for leading a decent life.

no its definitely a thing you can sign up to and not a mod in that way. im just not sure if its a unique activity pub implementation like mbin/lemmy or like taking one of those and adding to it. It might even be making changes to activity pub as part of it as there is something I had read in a convo where someone was talking about how communities having to assign something so they get into a particular pool or something.

I guess I was thinking more movies that had characters who were part of the particular generation in a way and sorta gave a slice of life for the generation.

I went with kbin because I liked the interface better. Im guessing you are also a person who browses on a computer rather than a phone. Unfortunately something happened with earnest so I moved to an mbin instance. There is a third thing sorta in alpha that looks promising and I keep forgetting its name. It might ultimately have a better interface.

for myself I look to have an account on an instance that federates everywhere. I block stuff myself. Given that I find domain blocking does not work correctly and the language filter is iffy. Im hoping those get improved but the language might be local configs that are not correct or something.
