  • hilarious but I edited a comment and I could see plane as day the edit listed in parethesis right there. I guess maybe I have not come across a lot of edited comments so never noticed it before. man I easily miss things.

  • you know there is a an option on a dropdown called activity and when I go to it I just see the comment alone on a page. my theory now is if its edited it will show the history but I would have to have an edited comment for it to show. I got to find one of my edited old ones and check it out.

  • does that show for you being on your lemmy instance vanilla from a browser? If so I may have to add that on an mbin vs lemmy thing. I went with mbin because I use a laptop browser and it had a better feel but I like to keep an eye out for tradeoffs. I actually thought there was no way to collapse thread for a long time though and just noticed where it is like a few weeks ago for mbin. I guess it might be a new thing but im like 99% sure I just missed it. Don't see anything like the pencil icon on mbin in a browser though.

  • what the actual fuck. we voted against russia withdrawing form ukraine. no offense fellow americans but I hate an aweful lot of you. If your a great person in every other way and you voted for this. well your still an asshole.

  • I mean a liberal arts education is sometimes said to teach how to think. There are many types of thinking and strategies for them. inductive reasoning, deductiver reasoning, and throwing stuff at the wall which is basically guessing. Really guessing has to sorta be proven out by something like inductive reasoning (testings like the scientific method) whereas deductive tries to take whats already known and come up with a better guess which you may feel is strong enough to go with or you can treat like a guess and test it out. I mean at some point if you utilize the idea it will get tested out based on working or not.

  • mine would have us do a list of goals and then we would need to update as we got. our goals would be based on corporate goals. of course by the end of the year half the stuff from the start of the year made no sense relative to what we had done.

  • I really wish the system would flag edited comments. I have edited comments all the time do to my incredibly poor spelling and grammar but also to update and since I never see an update I feel the need to put like EDITED - with the update and while I still might do this for major things just to break apart the initial and the update I still would like an automatic tag so I don't feel the need if its more minor. What would be awesome would be to see something like the track changes type of thing in a text document with the crossed out words and stuff. Like if you could choose a drop down that would give that view.
