  • you're just ensuring that Netanyahu can finish the job unmolested

Biden is already giving Netanyahu everything Netanyahu needs to exterminate the Gazans, and I don’t really think it matters if Biden molests Netanyahu while he does it.

  • You’ve baselessly called me a white supremacist

I’m saying you think it’s normal to be unconcerned about brown people being genocided because you’ve grown up in a white supremacist culture which continues to portray non-Western cultures as primitive savages who ought to be subordinated by white people, with force if necessary.

  • Your bad faith argument

So you can't even accept that there are real people who genuinely care about the Gazans.

That says a lot about you and the company you keep. (And, to be fair, the entire white supremacist culture of the United States.)

I’ll easily turn a blind eye to something happening a half a world away

I would bet dollars to dimes that your tune would be different if it were a white country being genocided.

You would never be this unconcerned about Ukraine.

so the people nearest and dearest to me can continue to exist.

The people near you are not in any of danger of being deliberately wiped out by American bombs. The people in Gaza are.

(But they're brown people, so I understand why it's hard for you to feel concerned.)

  • If you refuse to vote for someone because you don't like literally 100% of their platform, you'll never cast another vote in your life.

Even if I supported 99% of Harris's agenda, if the remaining 1% is genocide, that's gonna be a problem for me.

  • Probably just a coincidence that this third party candidate being funded by known far-right billionaires appears to want to dismantle NATO.

Nato should be dismantled. It should have been dismantled 30 years ago.

After the Cold War ended, there should have been a global military de-escalation, including shutting down US overseas military bases, and dismantling Nato. Instead, the military bases were kept open and Nato was expanded.

Experts have been saying for a decade that expanding Nato would provoke conflict with Russia. And now everyone’s acting shocked that that’s exactly what happened.

(And now America is saying we need Nato to protect Ukraine in a conflict that Nato provoked.)

  • And when you sit this election out, and Donald Trump wins and gives Netanyahu the go ahead to turn Gaza into glass, their blood will be on your hands

    No, the opposite.

If I vote for Donald Trump and he helps Netanyahu turn Gaza into glass, then blood is on my hands.

If I vote for Kamala Harris and she helps Nethayahu turn Gaza into glass (which is looking pretty likely), then blood is on my hands.

Voting for a pro-Palestine candidate (like Cornel West) is the only way to ensure that blood isn't on my hands. (But it'll be on yours.)

  • I only watched Harris's speech.

    The good:

I was impressed by her oratory skills. I remember her doing well in the debates in 2020, but I didn't know she could deliver a speech like that.

The biographical stuff was good. (And necessary. She has a complicated backstory, and despite being VP, Americans barely know much about her.) I see we're still avoiding any mention of Canada, but that's probably for the best.

She looked like a president up there.

    The bad:

I was put off by the jingoism. I guess Democrats are war hawks now. That's where we are in 2024.

Between all the "defend Israel" and "stop Iran", I was not filled with any confidence that she'll rein in Netanyahu on Gaza.

  • "And America, we must also be steadfast in advancing our security and values abroad."

Values? Is this where she talks about compassion and justice, and creating a safer world through peace and de-escalation in the Middle East?

"As commander in chief, I will ensure America always has the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world."

    Oh.

  • Each deserves as much voice as it has number of supporters it can bring, and that puts anti-genocide voices somewhere around climate activists and gun control supporters. You're not the only ones with children dying, you see. We have everyone's futures to worry about

Behold the Democrats and their inspiring message of “calm down, genocide isn’t that big of a deal”.

  • the people asking Israel nicely to stop killing people

The Democrats are not asking Israel to stop. The Democrats are proving Israel with war funding and weapons, and protecting Israel from consequences at the United Nations.

They’re politicians. You can’t judge them by their words. Only by their actions.
