  • Time for all filming with children to move out there. Friend of mine works as a "guardian" in a Broadway production company and sole job is ensuring the children are not going outside the laws to protect the company from lawsuits and lessor so protect the children.

  • Google Auth is about to get an "update" that seriously limits it use. By stopping it being tied to a single device and letting you Auth from cloud....they are basically removing the second factor from 2fa and just making it your Google password not somthing physical.

  • That is probably what the warden assumed the op was actually doing, but the way they get you is if you have set it forward by 30mim say, but then the wardens clock.you within those 30min the time will be off by 23.30 hours

  • One of my controversial opinions is beloved TV presenter Stephen Fry has done more harm in last 20years than any other celebrity (including Trump).

QI approach of 'but akshly' klackson and in game punishing people for having interest in topic but not knowing fully lead to confrontational approach to knowledge that led to smug 'but aksuly' on one side and pushed those that like to get bits of trivia to share but may not have full knowledge towards the anti-intelectual, fuck experts approach.

Instead if people did the xckd 10000 people approach https://xkcd.com/1053/ and rather than making fun, build up others knowledge and excite them to learn, then maybe they wouldn't turn their backs on knowing

  • That's real shame but understandable. Undeadwood was great and the talks machina was amazing compainian to the series although I guess if you are binge watching the series having a companion piece is less needed so maybe they were of their time for speculation. But again totally see why the core crew would want it gone from their platform

  • I'm old.enough to remember when this was literally a news item... For a long time LEDs where red orange and green but the wavelength for blue was tricky. Then in early 90s they finally cracked being able to make blue with cheap materials and manufacturing processes for mass consumption. It would change the world as having r g and b enabled LEDs to be used in displays. So blue LEDs were the ones that won a Nobel prize and was in all the journals and on pop sci TV shows like beyond 2000.

So some of the copy was identical to your post

  • It is worry about, from the African rise to even here in the UK chruch groups I know we're once quite liberal.find more and more free resources online that made by us evengelics and the jolly permissive vicars of 15-20 years ago are being replaced with radicalised younger zealots

  • I disagree I am a manger that has done the job and found myself falling into the management and I am crap. As have other technical turned managers I know. They are too seperate disciplines. Let the managers manage and the tech tech.

That said I am talking about tasking, resource and people management. The actual technical planning and strategy, is another discipline again and often where the people managers fail

  • Yep. A lot of streaming services recently have been taking shows and films off the service and burry them as a tax write off. In my world if they write it off they should have to put it in public domain. If they can still sue people who copy it then it obviously has value to the rights owner still.
