  • Err, I don't see a point in disagreeing for the sake of it - I have a similar problem to you though. I get awkward or silent when I don't have anything original, new or even interesting to say, like you are uncomfortable with 'agreement'.

  • What are you talking about? This is my only comment on the thread, you've clearly mistaken me for somebody else.

  • They engage in tomfoolery.

  • Just used the last of my coins to award a piracy post lol.

  • Persuasion works best when you work off commonalities rather than differences. Though I understand you're trying to go for combative argumentation.

  • It probably has some root in a region of England anyway.

  • Wow, this sub is dogshit. I don't support censoring people like you, but I just want to say: this so reddit.

  • Not really true, in the cases where they do achieve power they employ characters like Manchin and Sinema to blatantly put a stop to democracy.

  • I hope he wasn't serious lol, he even has three arrows on his profile pic. It's such a corporate thing to say.

  • We definitely need a little bit of the cloning and imagination - to get the niche communities on here - which was what I actually used reddit for mostly. The rest was background noise/scrolling.

  • I like that this is from mastadon.

  • I don't use tiktok because it's bad for me and makes my older phone heat up, but it's a great app that leads you to your very niche interests if you guide the algorithm to do so - that's even despite the 'heating button' that their employees use to make favoured (creators/corps) content go viral.

  • That is a good point, however you call people climate lunatics without specifying above, which is lazy and strange to do on a platform like lemmy where you have a much higher wordcount for comments than Twitter for instance. I'm still convinced you dislike the idea of a clean, green environment for some reason though.

  • I've only just been able to log into this account using private mode, I only just realised that emptying the cache would've worked or something - but the weird thing is my account wasn't working on mobile apps either so I didn't think to empty cache on desktop...

Sync for Lemmy can't come soon enough.

  • It should behave as a viable and threatening adversary for reddit. As long as reddit carries on doing as it does and lemmy's communities carry on building, we're winning by blocking Reddit's monopoly on mainstream forum-type social media.
