  • Yeah. I feel like they could have picked someone better for that. Like his dad would have been a better pick. Even if he was the king. I could see Wormtongue avoiding taxes, but in a really scummy way. But I don't think Boromir would be the best pick.

  • Honestly, I've been feeling this way a lot lately. Especially with the labels and and pronouns part. I'll call anyone what they want, and I'm not gonna beleive they're not that, but some things are getting a bit ridiculous.

Like not to long ago I learned a new term, I don't remember what it is, but it was basically a word to describe somes sexuality when you don't know what their sexuality is. Like someone asks Bob what sexuality Greg is, and they don't know for certain.

But A) The term used an acronym for not/non and put it at the beginning of asexual, so it was not not asexual... or just sexual... I guess.

    B) If someone asks, you can just say you don't know. We don't need a word to describe someone's sexuality as "I don't know."

I'm trying not to sound like an old person, and I do get why a lot of terms are uses. But it seems like every few months I hear about a new one, and it just seems like someone made it just to have a new term. I like that people are exploring and we are learning more

Other posts I've seen are things like "Can get guys/lesbians be gay guys/lesbians if they like non-binary people?"... Sure, why not? If someone wants to still use the term gay or lesbian, cool. If they think that puts them more towards bi to an extent, cool.

"Bi is transphobic, and if you would date trans people you're actually pan" Or they just grew up with the term bi, and that's how they identify. It's not an issue.

I'm just waiting for the day when I get called transphobic for being gay, which means I only date men and not trans men, so that I can point out that trans men are men, and we don't need to make it more complicated than just gay.

  • But don't you dare complain that's entry level jobs are disappearing and it's harder to find a job. It's your own fault they now require a minimum of 3 years experience for a barely above minimum wage job that people with 3 years of experience don't want, but they won't give to anyone else.

  • My brother was going to school for pharmacy work, but ended up hating it. He mostly was in it because he got thrown into the pharmacy at Walgreens, and they were paying for his schooling.

So he switched over probably about the same time.

I'm thinking maybe he should have just stuck with the free school.

  • I imagine it is. We are kind of making things worse. But at the same time the issue started because they kept canceling shows. People would watch what they wanted, and some just didn't have a big enough audience, or Netflix just didn't care, so they would get canceled. And that's why now some of us don't watch what we want, because what we want is likely to get canceled, even if we do watch it. Us not watching it just increases those chances. But I'm not willing to spend time on a 1 season show that gets left without a finish.

I think another problem is that they have a little of everything. If you want a particular type of show, they probably have made it. Maybe even more than once. But that also means the viewership gets spread a little thinner, which means many of them aren't getting as many views as the big name shows.

  • I don't disagree, but it also only works out so well for many, many people. Like depending on where someone lives, their community is largely the people they needed to be protected from. I'm lucky in that I live in Portland. A fairly progressive, if not at least performative prgressives, but at least we won't be the first to go. But since I have sympathy and empathy for people, I would rather it not come to that. Accelerationsm is just sacrificing marginalized communities. And I get you're not much of an ally, and that's fine. I'll take people who don't care but are willing to let us live our lives. But for the rest of us, I can't get behind the mentality of just throwing people in the fire and saying "Well I'm just gonna watch over myself." That's a part of how things like dictators happen. And once that happens, participating locally won't be enough, because things like local elections wont be a thing anymore.

  • Damn. That's a good stack of games. I already have Session on PC, but might get it on PS so I can sit on the couch and play. Also already have RE2, but have the PS4 disk packed away. Was thinking about it not to long ago, so might as well. Probably check out Tiny Tina and City Undercover

  • What other choice do some of us have? I would love a centrait president. Like actual centrist. I know going further left that that is impossible at this current point, but even centrist is a super long shot to even win the primary. Bernie can't even get enough people who support him to vote for him.

So let's say Project 2025 becomes P2029. P2033. P2037. As a gay man, I need to keep pushing that back. If not, me and my community get even more fucked than we are. That's when things like genocide start to happen. I don't get the choice of risking a republican being elected. The only hope I have is either as younger people start getting to voting ages, and older people die out, and religion starts to disappear, that maybe things will change.

It's either that or I leave. Granted, me and my boyfriend are highly considering it, for multiple reasons. But it won't be something we can consider. It's something we will need to do.

  • I've always just gotten moving, watched them, and then usually just delete them to make room for more. Lately I've been thinking about just upgrading my storage, and making sure to have copies of a lot of my favorite movies and TV shows. I don't rewatch things much anymore, now that there's so many new things always coming out. But I like to every now and then.

  • I can sort of see things like washing machines, even if I would rather it not. It can tell you when it's done, some even run a diagnostics to tell you if something is wrong.

But yeah, it's a drill. It's not that complicated. I don't need it to tell me when it's done when I need to be there to use it.

  • Ehhhh I can see it. It's usually out in nature where people might want to just see nature... but I also usually see it in places where people aren't going sight seeing as much. It's fields. Which are nice. Those are nice to see. But it's not the thing people are seeing in the towns as much. But if they were, I don't see how it could really ruin the view of a neighborhood.

If it was something like in campgrounds, going out to the lake and it's just right there in front of the view of the mountains, right off to the side of hiking trails, I would hate it. But over all I don't see it as that huge of a deal. They tend to find the best places for it with causing the least amount of trouble for others.

  • At this point I honestly and truly feel no guilt saying I have hopes that bad things happen to people like OP and whoever wrote this article. I do not view you any differently than I do people waving Nazi flags saying 6 million wasn't enough.

Which is fitting with the ammount of overlap and people saying 12,000 children aren't enough.
