  • If you go through the music of the era you like, there was slop there are well. Slop isn't new. You just like some of the music that survived that time period.

Its like with literature. We have "the classics." The range from a lot of different eras. And many of them are great, even if not for everyone. But then you go through sights like Project Gutenberg, where they are trying to make a digital copy of every book in the public domain, and you start to realize just how many books there were that no one talks about. And those are just ones that have survived.

If you want a great example of this with music: disco. Disco was essentially the pop of it's time. It's really where pop was born. Super popular for a short period of time. Lots of famous groups because of it.

How many can you name off the top of your head? How many do you think most people can name? Probably not many. Because a lot of it might have been good, but it was really that good.

I listen to metal. But I didn't get into it until my junior year of high school. So about 2006-2007. Before that I knew Metallica. I knew Black Sabbath. Things like that, but I never got into the genre until that point. I also realize that I only habe listened to a very small fraction of the bands from that era, because more of it is just buried and forgotten about.

We can take this a step further. I probably wouldn't be able to list 1/5th of the bands I listened to in the 2010s. A lot of those bands I might think about from time to time, but many of them that I actually enjoyed I'll probably remember. They were good, but didn't have much staying power. They weren't exceptional. They didn't influence anything. But I still enjoyed listening to them.

This is a shortened version to say that while I'm sure it's great to cum to your superior taste, music has had slop for a long time, and you're not better for not enjoying it. You're just boring.

  • One of my friends in high school had one of those small trucks, and I always thought it was so cool. I'm not sure how often she used the bed, but it got decent milage still, it looks cool, and I'm sure it came in handy eventually. If I was looking for a truck, I would totally buy one. But I'm sure as shit not buying one of those pointlessly giant ones. Nothing about them is appealing.

  • Maybe to make sure we are part of the group that is conforming we can make some sort of outfit. And to make sure it's not fake outsiders, we can all have an armband. Something with a symbol on it. That was we can recognize who's in the cool conformity group.

  • This is just another reason to either be cremated or dumped in a ditch. Don't put shit in the ground. My body us natural, organic materials. It will be fine. If we aren't allowed to do that, I would rather just have my Boyd burned and put in a container.

  • It's less that there's not a demand so much as supply and demand work together. Not appart. When it comes to accounting, there are different ways to look at different things. The main one is financial accounting. Another one is taxes.

In the case of this: managerial accounting. Something that a lot of corporations seem to be failing at lately. Managerial accounting is basically finding information to report to the managers. For instance, breaking down the cost of an item to see how much it costs to produce, comparing it to how much it makes, etc.

One thing they do is figuring out how much to raise the cost of a good/service. It's a slight gamble in that you can never be 100% sure, but they try to find that sweet spot where they can raise it without scaring away too many people and eventually losing money. In this case, they charge too much. The cost of flying, like everything else, has gone up. And we get worse service while there. So if you're raising the cost of the different services, and you find that people are now only going with the cheaper option, you have likely started over charging. You need to drop the price of both services.

For instance, I might be willing to spend an extra $50 for an upgrade. But if you raise the price of the cheap service by $100, now I don't have the money. Make the gap between the two $100, and now I really don't have enough.

Of course, when every company made it a race to riase proces as much as possible, at this point I don't think many companies have much of a choice. They all kind of fucked everything all at once, including themselves. But they made a profit in the short term, so there's that.

  • French toast. I think the egg gives it a bit of a boost.

Honestly, I just looked up recipes for waffles and pancakes. The main difference I'm seeing is some waffles have vanilla extract... and that's basically the main thing. I prefer waffles, largely because of the texture and the little syrup pods, but otherwise I can go with either one.

  • Same. I think the only time I've ever done ng+ is for souls games. But I'm not gonna support this. A few years back I really came to terms with the fact that I'm never gonna play all the games I want to, and it's OK if some of them slip through the cracks. Now I don't regret skipping out on a lot of games. Like I would love another old school Assassins Creed. I'm not getting anytbing from Ubisoft. Part of me wanted to give in for that. Then I saw shit about ads on the loading screen, and said nope.

EA. Finally coming out with a new Skate. I still gave copies of the first 3. I would buy a new one after years of wanting it. But it's EA and Session exists. So I'm good. I'm not even gonna download their free game.

  • That's honestly one of the biggest wtf things to me. Movies like that are old as fuck. How many people are still buying the DVD? Or paying to rent it? Not talking down on the movie itself. There's a reason it's still talked about. But honestly, it's not making much, if anything.

Why not have it throw up on a streaming service? At that point, if I had the rights, and Netflix said they would pay me like $200 a week, I would probably still do it. That's probably $200 more than what it's currently making a week. Netflix gets to have it for cheap. And then the people who want to watch it get to.

But yet its a problem for us to pirate it?

  • People are talking about it like they are saying it's legal, rather than it just being left out of a list. Which sure, if it's left out on purpose, that's pretty telling. But a loophole in a law isn't always done on purpose. I'm willing to beleive for now it was an accident

  • I've gotten those calls a few times from BoA. But it's always like 2 days after. And it's not necesarily big purchases. I've gotten a TV and been fine. But I got Minecraft when that first came out, and got a call for that. One time I got a call for getting lunch at a fast food place. And these are so far and few in between that they don't really make me feel safe. It's more so just annoying.

  • Yup. I keeps things from getting out, but also can help from things getting in. I do patient transportation at a hospital, and sometimes we have to wear PPE before going in a room. Not just to keep the patient safe, but also ourselves.

  • My boyfriend is in nursing school, and they have some sort of program where you can move there and get a house for cheap, if not free. I'm sure they're not great houses and would need some work done, but still a great deal. We considered it for a hot minute...

But then I started thinking about that stuff, and did some more research into what it's like to move there. Some really awesome aspects to it, but I think we are gonna pass.
