  • This shit is wild. You'd figure the capitalists would have a sense of self-preservation and not let things get this bad.

  • Looks decadent with the oil pooling around the bottom.

  • Once a month ideally, I've had to cut back a bit recently because of rising costs. I also always try to pick up a shirt or something to support the band.

  • Glad to see some actually heartening news. I desperately hope at least some people look at this, and realize that treating prisoners like actual citizens and human beings is a basic necessity, and not a privilege they should have to earn.

  • You can pretty much pick up Summoning from any album, they started out metal-focused with their earlier releases like Minas Morgul, so those might not match the "chill" vibe. That said, everything after Dol Guldur starts to lean all the way into Dungeon Synth. Personally, I think the best album to start with is probably Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame, I've always felt it was the moment they perfected their sound.

  • The lowest hanging fruit for recommending here is probably Summoning, that's about as close to a band who's entire concept is "Chill Mordor Ambiance". Alternatively, anything in the Atmospheric-Black Metal to Dungeon Synth pipeline, Ornatorpet, Paysage D'Hiver, or Old Sorcery. You might not find the screechy vocals to your taste, but it has unmatched Atmosphere.

  • He's been in a feud with his legislature over immigration bullshit. Truly an inspiring and commanding leader.

  • I think they explicitly do want brownshirts buddy.

  • No, I think I'll stay and try to protect whoever I can. I'll probably get killed, I've more or less made peace with that.

  • I for one, don't believe people deserve to suffer.

  • They really don't give a shit. So much for Solidarity, fucking liberal bastards.

  • Your heart goes out to us, how sweet, I'll think of your heart when me and my friends who cannot leave are rounded up and sent to camps.

  • The real problem is how we use our resources, not how big our population is.

  • Comedy gold, except for everyone who has to try and shop at a Walgreens.

  • Proof of the value of looking beyond the most base layer of news. You'll make it easy to be fed a narrative that fits the elites worldview.

  • So, to an extent sure, I don't think it's some horrible thing for simply moralistic reasons, everyone has to discover their sexuality one way or another. However, I do think maybe having an entire digital library of smut dumped in your lap the moment you have access to a smartphone and some private time is probably not good for your sexual development. Ideally we'd just have parents/guardians use some common sense and take advantage of parental controls to limit access. But, we both know that many are neglectful or simply busy with trying to make ends meet to constantly monitor these things. Is the right answer government intervention? I'm personally more than a little skeptical, but I can see why some people see it as a valid concern.

  • It's a classic tactic, use a somewhat legitimate concern (Minors having access to pornography). And blow it far out of proportion, and use it as an excuse to crackdown on what you're really after. You will see people defending these bans because the "reasoning" they're being presented SEEMS rational, but unwittingly they're supporting a mass crackdown on their own rights.

  • Yeah I had a huge laugh, this is just gonna suck for the people who get suckered into it.

  • Yes, and it's an absolute TORTURE. I can't say I have any good advice other than maybe trying to structure things so you are forced to get around to it. Or just embrace the fact that you're flighty and jump from one thing to another. Anyways, I should stop scrolling lemmy and finish that book I started last month.
