  • I'm saying claiming that Jewish communities promote hatred against white people is an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory and not at all similar to claiming individuals often harbor discriminatory feelings or even hatred for those outside of their in-group.

  • The US doesn't have an official language and it's completely unreasonable for Pima County, where 25% of residents speak Spanish as their primary language, to not have Spanish-speaking dispatchers available.

  • No. And why now are we pretending that hating and pushing hate are the same thing? My grandfather hating Chinese people isn't the same thing as my grandfather's community organizing to push anti-Chinese propaganda.

Why can't we just address what was actually said?

Jewish communties have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.

  • Why did "pushing hatred against" get softened to "discriminate against"? That's not at all what was said.

  • Rule #1: Believe the autocrat. He means what he says. Whenever you find yourself thinking, or hear others claiming, that he is exaggerating, that is our innate tendency to reach for a rationalization. This will happen often: humans seem to have evolved to practice denial when confronted publicly with the unacceptable. Back in the 1930s, The New York Times assured its readers that Hitler’s anti-Semitism was all posture. More recently, the same newspaper made a telling choice between two statements made by Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov following a police crackdown on protesters in Moscow: “The police acted mildly—I would have liked them to act more harshly” rather than those protesters’ “liver should have been spread all over the pavement.” Perhaps the journalists could not believe their ears. But they should—both in the Russian case, and in the American one.

  • Wow. Sounds like it was a slow motion train wreck.

The audience soon began booing Jones before shouting “no ceasefire,” prompting the former Obama adviser to get a bit flustered as the chants grew louder. While demanding an end to antisemitism and other forms of hate, Jones seemed to accidentally call for an increase in Islamophobia, nervously saying “let’s take a stand against Muslims.”

“let’s take a stand against Muslims.”

    Oof.

  • israel does not have a plan in Gaza and is trying to maximize civilian casualties.

To be clear, these are OP's words and represent their opinion; neither part of this sentiment is in the memo or article.

The Dutch embassy also noted that the IDF applies “elements” of the Dahiya doctrine - a strategy first used in the war in Lebanon in 2006 which "intends to deliberately cause massive destruction to infrastructure and civilian centers" while taking large numbers of civilian casualties for granted. That violates the laws of war, the memo states.

The Dutch Defense Attache at the embassy in Tel Aviv believes Israel is trying to destroy Gaza's infrastructure and civilian buildings and doesn't give a shit about the civilians that will die as a result, not that they're "trying to maximize civilian casualties." And that is a plan, it's just that the plan is horrific and the Defense Attache believes their goal is unachievable:

According to the Dutch embassy, Israel’s stated goal of “a clear military victory over Hamas” is impossible to achieve. Even if Hamas is almost completely destroyed, the fundamentalist movement’s ideology will live on. “There is no military answer to this, this is a political issue.”

  • He's the Chair of the Committee; it is quite literally his job to maintain decorum and everyone else's job to not speak out of turn. Only Mullin was being a child here, no reason to impugn everyone else in the room for doing what they were supposed to be doing and letting the Chair handle it.

  • Well, not so much "meet" as "read a single bullet point about" because, you know, Axios is a horrible plague out to make everyone even less informed than they already were.
