  • Your rant has almost nothing to do with nothing. If a place has a pay structure where tipping is "expected" then if you as the customer don't tip, then you're a douche. Eliminating that pay structure is totally fine by me, but until that happens, those folks are dependent on tips.

  • I unfortunately have to agree to some extent.

There are so few Dems out there who are willing to duke it out with the Right. I don't blame Biden for not stooping down to the level of tweeting insults to the Right. He's president and thus should appear presidential not like his clown of a predecessor. But for fucks sakes there should be someone in the Democratic party that instigates the Right and is willing to play dirty and call them out on their shit. AOC was a firecracker and even when I disagreed with her, I loved that she would duke it out with any Republican. But there are so few others.

  • Electing women is a meaningless metric.

While I totally agree, don't tell that to the feminists out there.

And just as sex is a meaningless metric so are other similar characteristics, and yet there are far too many who continue to push for affirmative action bullshit. Go for the best candidate - whether it is for political office or for a job as a waiter, doctor or engineer. So many are hung up on pushing less qualified candidates through simply because of their sex or the color of their skin.

  • What part of "we won't know what will happen" don't you quite understand?? Do you think politics (or anything, really) is a straight pre-determined line? If that was the case, then why have primaries or even general elections? Apparently no unexpected things ever happen.

The first twist has been the emergence of Vivek. There will be many more.

  • They don't tip well and treat people in lower positions poorly. From the downvotes, I can tell a whole hell of a lot of Lemmings were raised by shit parents. WTF is wrong with you people? You can dislike tipping culture all you want, but if the environment is one where tipping is a main source of income for someone (namely wait staff), then get your ass off the soap box and you tip them. Argue the merits of tipping elsewhere.

They don't have a fascination with learning new things. Doesn't have to be strictly school-related, but something ain't right if discovering new things and learning about the world doesn't interest you.

  • These aren't even veiled threats anymore. These are actual, out-in-the-open threats and they continue to happen because Democrats aren't doing anything about them.

Within hours of Huckabee making these threats, the FBI or Secret Service should be parading him in the streets with handcuffs on as they bring him in for questioning. Make an example of him, Palin and all the other right wing lunatics that are threatening our democracy.

But as usual, we give right wing lunatics a free-pass and then wonder why they continue to escalate this issue.

  • If you think literally anything happening right now means anything, then you have a whole lot of learn about American politics. We aren't even at the pre-game yet, let alone the primaries and eventually the general election. There are going to be so many twists and turns till next November, that no one is even going to remember what happens now.

  • I agree with OP but these don't seem to be big talking points of American liberals.

Instead we have many, far worse, initiatives which do the same thing that OP has mentioned. Not too many liberal Americans are talking about eating bugs or banning AC, but endlessly pushing idiotic nonsense like pronouns-this and pronouns-that have the same net effect amd that is turns mainstream people off. And no legislation is going to get a ton of support without mainstream folks pushing for it.

  • Once again our useless news media covered for another right wing Republican.

Literally the day after he was elected there were already stories about this clown and various bombshells. No one is going to convince me reporters didn't know this information before election day. But as we've seen time and time and time again, our news media will give Republicans a free-pass on things, all while they hold Democrats to impossibly high standards.

  • And just think who he will appoint to various positions if he ever becomes president!

Be sure to fight amongst yourselves and bicker why one group is ever so slightly more or ever so slightly less left of center than yourself, and not focus on the fascist in the room.

Remember to stubbornly focus on the small differences between us, and not on the massive threat that the far right is to our democracy.

Be sure to refuse to fall in line behind the party and the individuals who can stop this, and instead use your one precious vote on some 3rd party candidate who has a 0% chance of winning and is only running to act as a spoiler.

  • Antiperspirants don't really reduce how much you sweat.

They just reduce how much you sweat at your armpits. They use aluminum to essentially clog your armpit sweat glands to keep them from sweating too much. But you are sweating for a reason - because your body thinks it is hot, so you just end up sweating more in other parts of your body. It isn't some magic no-sweat medicine.
