  • Not return in terms of money, but in terms of hours of use and enjoyment my Android tablet is probably at the top of the list since I use it every day.

If we are are actually talking money, then my 3D printer had been used to make many times it's original purchase price. If we are talking about total money then my first house has gained the most value.

  • When you bring with you almost no votes or support, then what do you expect?

So the groups that vote reliably for the Dems should get no attention, but the Left should get to dictate policy when it can't bring up any support?

That's the most liberal thinking I've ever heard..... waaaaa, give me attention, even though I won't lift a finger to support you!

  • You SHOULD have been excited about John Kerry. And Hillary. And Biden.

Those are the candidates that actually have a shot at winning. I was happy to vote for Howard Dean, and Sander and yet I know enough to fall behind the candidate that actually has a shot at winning if the one I vote for doesn't get the nomination. Dean made the exact same mistake that Sanders did - he had the naivete to count on the Left and the youth vote to get him elected. And like we've seen countless times before, those people don't vote. All the comments and posts and messages and tweets by liberals online about how this person or that person should win, when it comes to election day they don't show up.

So with that losing strategy proven time and time again, why the fuck should Democrats go to the Left, when voters are clearly showing them that they want more centrist candidates?

The news media ripped Dean apart for having the gall to be emotional after his primary win, but nothing stopped his Base from following up his victory with supporting him in subsequent primaries. And yet they didn't. Because liberals don't WANT to win. They want to complain.

  • Stop watching Food Network or the myriad of food channels on YT. Cooking ain't that hard.

Can you follow the most basic of basic directions like "preheat oven to 350F" or "mix ingredient X with ingredient Y"? Yeah, of course you can. But it is in the food industry's best interest in making it look far more complicated than it really is.

  • So stop buying them!

1/2 the people complaining about the lack of innovation will turn around and order a new iPhone within the next 12 months or so. Apple doesn't know or care about your snarky comments about them, but they sure as hell know you just gave them many hundreds of dollars for a new phone.

  • Fetterman is 100% right.

He's basically calling out progressives for essentially not wanting power. Those progressives rather sit on the sidelines and complain about everything than ever gaining even a morsel of political power to where they could actually do something.

Falling in-line is what has led conservatives to gain enough control of the government to throw out what most considered a done deal. RvW is gone (as well as any hope for reasonable gun restrictions, as well as a host of other no nonsense laws) because Republicans know about playing the long game and know that collectively they can accomplish far more things.

It's funny that progressives love to push the idea of collective bargaining when it comes to labor relations and yet they can't figure out that collectively if they fell behind the leader of the Democrats, their voices would be much better heard.

  • I have a similar issue. My line is coming from the 2nd floor and there is a pipe in the wall that drains outside newr ground level. The pipe is probably 12 foot long and takes a few bends.

I used a snake to clear the line a few weeks ago. Not entire sure what exactly is causing the clog but like you said, it's probably just gunk.

Now after I cleared the line I was ready to pull the drain out, but the pipe is like 1/2" so the snake isn't really blocking any condensate from dripping down. So for the last few weeks, I've simply left the snake in there. I'm thinking with the snake in there either maybe the gunk won't grow to clog the line so easily, or since it's already in there, all I have to do is wiggle the snake once a month and dislodge anything that might be starting to grow.

The reason I don't pull it out is because with the angle and bends in the pipe, I had a hell of a time snaking the snake up there. But once it was up there dislodged the gunk took all of 5 seconds.

The snake looks to be regular steel which will rust with water touching it, so I've ordered some stainless steel wire which I will run up the pipe ans just leave it there. It's not the beat solution but I don't have access to the source of the condensate so I have to work backwards from the drain up.

  • People SHOULDN'T be content with being just a skill less burger flipper. That's the damn point. Go get a goddamn skill. Be the manager at a burger joint. Own a burger joint. You move up in the world by learning a skill and getting a better job.

What do you think will happen when those other professions now (rightfully so) demand more money?? You think some unicorn magic is going to keep prices down? No. Those workers with actual skills and actual degrees will make more money and companies will counter that by tacking on another 10 or 20% to their prices. So what did you just accomplish? That extra purchasing power you just got by hiking skill less jobs to $20/hr just vanished because now the things that used to cost $100 now cost $120 or more.

    Poof

    There went your pay raise.

That's what happens when you aren't elevating the skill set of workers and instead just artificially boosting the pay rate of workers with zero skills.

    What an absolutely boneheaded move.
