MacOS has no proper UI scaling for example. Something windows had for... I don't know, ever? It was never an issue for me.
For MacOS you need a little extra tool you stumble upon after hours of debugging that teels your MacOS what resolutions your display actually supports so MacOS grants you the option of your desired HiDPI resolution.
It's stuff like this that drives me mad when dealing with the fucking Mac I am forced to use at work.
I like the old shows more because everyone acts appropriately to their rank and station. In the new shows a captain can go like "fuck this ima go punch someone and act super emotional and irrational" because that's what a star fleet captain or anyone star fleet would actually do.
Right. And nobody cares because he's the best man for the job for some reason.
I am having the same feeling towards the Mac I have to use at work. That stupid piece of shit is just a usability nightmare. I've no idea why people insist on Apple products being simpler or more efficient to use. It's just not true.
I was complaining about MacOS and you brought up Linux for some reason. I am aware I can do anything on Linux I can on Windows. I've used it briefly from time to time and it has a very windows-like work flow for basic stuff. MacOS doesn't.
I've been using windows PCs for 25 years and struggle with the damn Mac at work. The usability of the thing is just utter garbage. Nothing is better but everything is different just... because. I've wasted so much time learning the fucking thing and still nothing just works.
Want to take a screenshot? Press 3 keys. You better remember them because it's the most random fuckery imaginable. You like the cut & paste shortcuts of windows? We've something similar except it doesn't work everywhere for some reason. This shit goes on and on.
I don't know why Apple hates a proper Taskbar. I miss it everytime I struggle to find one of my open applications. Which is always.
Yeah I am rocking a 4070 and it's amazing in Alan Wake 2. The only 4000 series card to consider, if you don't want to spend fuck you money.
But if you want "future proof" you'll need to go higher. And obviously no current or last gen AMD card is future proof at all. Ray tracing is the future. There, I said it.
According to the posted picture this should happen at 1440p with >14GB VRAM used. It doesn't. 4k native is unplayable territory for every 12GB card anyway
If you'd red the whole thing you'd found that those numbers are overblown. Fps of a 4070 should tank in 1440p and run out of VRAM but doesn't.
Even with PT it's fine
Optimization is supposedly fine because it looks the part. Optimization doesn't mean make everything run on old hardware. It means make it run as well as possible. There's only so much you can do while retaining the fidelity they're going for.
