  • But when the left calls the right Nazis for disappearing people off the streets for daring to speak out against them, we are called alarmist or virtue signalers or whatever the fuck. For the right, those extreme views are rapidly becoming the mainstream.

Maybe the left should follow suit. Just dive headlong into polarization.

  • Believe it or not, I am with you. It's so annoying to listen to people's stories and hear their difficulties in an empathetic way.

I wish we didn't need to hear about it every waking second for people to get it through their skulls that people can live different lives and it doesn't hurt anyone. Talking about it all the time, the pride parades, the talks about acceptance is all transitional. Once there is widespread acceptance in general, there will be no need for that sort of thing, as they would no longer be an oppressed group. Then you will hear about it as often as people bring up Jesus, or sportsball or anything else that people devote their entire personality to in a really annoying way.

  • Ok but only the craziest fringe believes any of that.

Like you're taking the most extreme "leftist" views and labeling them the same as all liberals views. To be quite honest, if the entire dem party ACTUALLY believed the things you listed, we would be making great progress.

But it's just nonsense to drive everything even more right because obviously you don't agree with those CRAZY Dems right? They want to NUKE ISRAEL!!

  • I am fully on board with you. When I said humanity would live a few hundred years I meant "there is at least one human alive in some vault somewhere." It's entirely possible that you are right, and it's certain that 99% will be dead in the time you laid out, I just think that it's surprisingly difficult to kill 100% of anything.

  • Well think it through. Even if the world heats up by 10°C, Antarctica will still be at a livable temperature. People will eek out an existence there like living on Mars, with greenhouses and suits to go outside. It won't last forever though. Civilization collapse within 50 years, but full extinction will take some time.

  • Nothing we could conceivably do could ever possibly prevent that entirely. Shit is going to get BAD no matter what we do. We are still maybe able to prevent our extinction/near-extinction in the coming centuries. But famine and disease will be rampant once again in every country. Borders will be guarded with machine guns that are used liberally in many modern western countries.

  • Which is why the entire system needs to be ripped out root and all.

That being said, it's a risky gambit and doomed to failure and disaster if nothing is ready to pick up right afterwards.

So get planning everyone. We need a new system. We need details about who is doing what, why and how.

As far removed from capitalism as is possible/reasonable would be great.

  • Are you aware of what everyone is doing in their garages or planning in their minds? Not everyone talks openly about very dire measures that they feel may be necessary in the future. A big part of the pepper community is to not tell people about your stash. I imagine that line of thinking extends to this as it's basically the same mindset
