  • The last I saw was Israel will not negotiate any further until a list of hostages still alive is released. Lines up nicely with the ICJ report that calls for all hostages to be released immediately and unconditionally.

    Has this been brought forward?

  • Depends if AA ran the maintenance, or if an item was missed in preflight, or a myriad of other things that may have contributed in any way.

Personally I think 1 billion is a money grab, and don't know how they found that value. What is that - $20 million each or something for being on a plane that lost its door in flight and landed safely?

  • The article literally states that a civilian captive didn't hear fire from one side, and openly admits they don't know much about it.

Questions absolutely need to be raised.

Separate issue - this commander sounds like an absolute prick and his command should be questioned.

  • See, I've been following this conflict since it started and I still have no idea if anti Semitic is implying pro Israeli or pro Palestine.

Because everyone who used it puts it our as an insult and comments have no facts or actual arguement behind them. It seems be be almost a "sentence enhancer" that gets sprinkled on poor comments to give them some flavor and depth.

So, is democracy now a reputable and unbiased source of accurate information and facts, or is it an option piece that serves to push an agenda?

  • You're getting your models confused.

The supply demand is for a single item. It doesn't work in the wider economy because as one good gets more expensive people switch to similar goods that didn't increase - price increases, q demanded falls, customers swaps to a mirror good or don't buy at all.

Changes in technology is a supply side, not demand side. On foreign demand im referring to changes in exchange rates that can affect GDP and associated inflation pressures.

  • Logical, but it also makes articles impossible to validate. Ignoring the lack of author, who did they talk with, how did the situation develop, what are the facts of the situation? Did Israel just park a truck somewhere and pop everyone that came close?

  • Its almost like there is a narrative being pushed on lemmy that hamas is innocent in all of this and Israel is the only aggressor and responsible for everything. Like nearly every article posted and upvoted is from a pro-palestine source and everything calling for better reporting is downvoted or blocked. That the commonly referenced ICJ article called on both sides to act according to humanitarian grounds but it got reduced to "Israel genocide".

Almost like aid convoys were being restricted as aid was being stolen from their own civilians to be used by armed forces, and Hamas was showing off their anti Air weaponry that would be perfect for bringing down a slow moving cargo plane at low altitude, and pushing them out of areas was needed.

But that's all in the past now and clearly everything that happened was Israel fault, no need to look into that.

  • Source on witness please.

Only piece I've seen on indiscriminately shoot to kill was by a hamas source or Pro Palestine organizations.

I have however seen one that mentions a doctor stating something like 100 admitted (dead and wounded i assume) have gunshot wounds.

    • food aid massacre
    • 4 children starve
    • "injured Palestinian"
    • harrowing survivor accounts
    • "we don't want to live on the blood of our children".

No one is named, no images of the people they talked to, no author (this is the big one), no mention some were killed in stampede, no mention of warning shots or why Israel claims they fired (because there is no doubt they did fire shots and people were killed by gunfire). No images of the scene, graphics, anything.

It is written to paint Israel as bad as physically possible with no way to check references, authority and research done by authors, no mention there is ongoing investigation into the causes. No discussion of the currently debated timeline. Its implying little more than Israel put a truck somewhere and shot everyone around it.

No mention that Israel put out a statement saddened by those killed in the stampede that Israeli soldiers tried to control - i think its bullshit but it did come out.

It is a non factual, emotive, biased piece that can not be cross checked in any way. My response is longer than this piece, and has a trackable account linked to it.

Edit: I cant link, but would like to refer you to both the Al Jazeera and improvethenews.org articles on this. Much more factual.
