  • Milk chocolate and peach, with a creamy consistency. Then I’d try substituting other fruits, like kiwi, strawberry, cherry, and orange.

  • Maybe I’m a dork, but I think“correlation does not equal causation” is actually a good thing to keep in mind.

I’m reminded of it every time a news story says something is “linked” to something else. I hate it when the word “linked” is used in this way. It’s often lazy journalism and/or a scare tactic. Saying that two things are “linked” implies a stronger relationship than may actually exist. I find it deliberately misleading.

  • I hope he gets a new trial, and the maximum possible sentence. Fuck this guy.

  • I can’t even bring myself to read the article. The headline alone makes me want to break something.

  • It always makes me smirk when they show a car zooming down a completely empty city street.

The only way that’s going to happen is if you blow through a barricade. I almost expect them to plow into a bunch of marathon runners or something.

  • All right, I gotta say that Rapp’s kid is freaking adorable.

  • I’m no expert when it comes to journalism, but I’d like to humbly offer a suggestion: if you’re going to write an article about a label, consider including A PICTURE OF THE LABEL.

  • Because of your comment, I read the article because I wanted to know how long it’s been out. Only ONE year. That’s ridiculous.

  • Not as much as you’d probably like. A Venus fly trap wouldn’t eat enough quickly enough to be an effective solution.

  • They’ll point out that major cities are the biggest sources of pollution, while reminding us that most large US cities are run by Democrats. They’ll do so knowing that they’re being misleading, but as usual, they won’t care.

  • For every type of propaganda that you recognize, there are a dozen others you don’t. There’s propaganda designed for people who think they’re too smart to fall for propaganda. Too much money and power is at stake to leave any loose ends.

  • Do you still advertise there? If so, why?

  • Yeah, it would definitely rain inside the dome.

Source: my dad. He was in the Air Force, and once worked in a giant aircraft hangar that was big enough to accommodate an airship. He told me that the hangar had its own “weather”, and conditions inside the hangar were announced like weather forecasts.

That was only one hangar. Even though it was uncommonly large, it wasn’t nearly as big a city block.

On an unrelated note, I wonder how long it would take the inside of the dome to get filthy from things like exhaust.

  • “just ask me the question” is great all by itself.

  • It’s a really good thing that I’m not President. I have NO patience for this shit. Stopping Ukraine’s food shipments is simply unacceptable. I would have sent the Navy into the Black Sea by now, and possibly started a war with Turkey if they tried to stop the ships.

The world does not need people like me in charge.

  • Allies, particularly here on Beehaw. Maintaining a positive atmosphere isn’t easy, and they’ve made several posts about their philosophy. It’s something they put a LOT of thought into.

My default opinion of fediverse mods is that they’re allies, unless they prove otherwise.

I wouldn’t put up with adversarial mods. I’m just a casual user, and there are too many instances to choose from. I’m not gonna tolerate that crap. This isn’t reddit.

  • I especially like that he included the word “hearty”. This guy is awesome.
