  • Treating everyone you disagree with like they’re stupid is coping emotionally. Instead of taking the time to, idk discuss things with people they’ve written them off as dumb before they ever speak to them.

You don't know fuck all how much I've done precisely that. I obsessively debated various political and economic ideologies for like a straight decade of my life in invite-only forums specifically designed for such debate. I changed my own mind over time, and changed other people's minds. I've done it.

But I promise you, the people supporting these ideas proposed by the Trump administration are not just stupid, but WILLINGLY IGNORANT for their own selfish purposes. The amount coursing hatred I feel for them burns like the accretion disc of a quasar.

They are not people I would bother to debate. They are quite literally just my enemy. Mortal enemies. I don't want middle ground with them. I want something else.

  • As an American who has avoided joining the American military because I've been afraid of dying in a war, I'm almost leaning into wanting to join the Canadian military at this point. As I'm much less afraid of dying now that I'm nigh suicidal and Canadian sovereignty sounds like a viable cause to actually fight for.

  • But I will say that this model of yours that says people do these things because they are stupid or “dumb” might help you cope emotionally, but it prevents you from reaching any genuine insight.

I'm not the person you were responding to but I just wanted to make perfectly clear that you are 100% full of shit.

It doesn't give anyone ANY measure of "cope" that so many people are fucking stupid. Its terrifying, despairing, and awful. I would rather delusionally believe I could convince them of rational stances, now that would be cope.

  • It'll make them better adjusted. Playing music specifically for children shelters them and is going to make them alienated from their average peer.

You just also have to teach them that in school (and later professional/work contexts) they keep their words clean for the puritans that walk amongst them.

  • I feel split on that. My hatred is kind of for both groups. Democratic consultants, Biden, Harris, and DNC leadership in general I hate with a severe intensity for this failure, but also "Both sides bad" people and leftist non-voters I also hate with the same severe intensity. I hope they get exactly what they did not vote for.

The only Dem politician involved in this fiasco I don't hate is Walz. Just some significant disappointment.

  • I've not gotten around to trying it yet, I've already got like 6-7 games on my plate ATM on various devices. I actually suspect I wont hate it but I hear its pretty meh.

Hopefully Bethesda can turn it around with DLC/updates though. I hear modding is still in its infancy too so maybe we'll get something in that area down the road too.

Also I figure if I wait hopefully Starfield will get a VR edition (or maybe a mod) and that might be when I really want to jump in.

  • I say this as someone who loathes Musk, its not a big deal that this exploded.

But the success or failures of the program should also not be meaningfully attributed to Musk anyway. He owns the company but hes not an engineer.

  • Its mostly just that I want a Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim with a sci-fi setting. A solid story, lots of side-quests, and a dynamic world that reacts to the player. I'd probably enjoy a modern metropolitan criminal setting as well for an RPG like GTA's settings but Elder-Scrolls/3D-Fallout gameplay but you never see that at all.

    Space is cool though.

  • This is too weak and virtue oriented.

That said, I guess its better than nothing. Focusing on promoting alternatives however would probably be a little more effective. Amazon has a lot of weird niche products that I've struggled to find else where from trust-able sellers.
