  • This is flat out wrong. In fact, the more co2 is emitted, the more extreme the consequences are. The change from 0->1 degree of global warming barely registers. The change from 3->4 degrees is catastrophical, for example.

Thus, the warmer it gets, the more worth it is to fight against it, as each small win contributes more to the bottom line than in the beginning.

  • It’s the same crisis, in various stages of escalation. The rich are squeezing more and more of the lower and middle class all over the world, and there is almost nothing left to squeeze.

The next few years will bring a massive collapse in government services (the USA is starting) for ordinary people, because that is one of the last things that the rich can still squeeze out.

After that, there will be only the ultra rich and the destitute poor left; and the ultra rich will only be able to take from each other.

This will mean war, and they will send you all into it.

Unless we stop it now. Tax the rich.

  • I get the sentiment, who doesn’t want to dunk on Google?

But the headline is needlessly inflammatory. There is no law yet; and google essentially is saying please please don’t implement it, it totally doesn’t make sense.

Don’t get me wrong, the EU should still implement it. And once it is law; Google will also comply.

  • From the paper:

The very high concentrations of PFHxA readily extractable from the surfaces of fluoroelastomer watch bands, together with the current limited knowledge on the dermal absorption of PFHxA, demonstrate the need for more comprehensive exposure studies of PFHxA.

So it sounds more like it’s unclear for now. But probably best to about these bands either way.

  • You had someone to take care of you 24/7, always there for you. Cleaning, cooking, buying shit, etc. your parents were managing the household so you could learn.

Look at children that didn’t have such support - they would perform much worse, usually.

Ever went on a business trip or conference and stayed in a hotel? You will be surprised how much you get done in one day. Except the hotel can’t provide you with love :’)

  • Have owned one for 2 years. I have made precisely one trip where I was mildly inconvenienced by having to charge one times too many. (That trip was >700km long).

All of the other times it has been amazing. Don’t overthink it too much, really. Just look at all the electric car owners out there - there’s enough of them and as far as I know no one is complaining.

    Go for it.
