  • If we've seen anything, it's that companies always need more money. But this probably doesn't move the needle enough to make it at all worth it. Or it fucks with their marketing plan simply, they seem to be pretty keen on following the plan charts set for them.

Someone with more gung-ho attitude might jump at the chance though. even if it wouldn't really make a measurable impact for them either.

  • The biggest wtf in this is that tweeting, a term that's been ingrained into modern lexicon, is becoming irrelevant. That's like the greatest advertisement you can have for your platform.

  • It's their brand. And I'm glad it is. It's something Samsung can't copy (I presume because of the Google backbone) or attack.

(Written on a Samsung phone btw.)

Edit. I should probably add why it's good even when I'm not in their ecosystem. It raises the bar for competition and shows that privacy adds value.

  • Yeah let's get to that million first before splitting everyone. It's really not helpful in the current state.

And there are actually options besides "this is how it currently works so it's good". Like some kind of federated communities/magazines where when you post to one it's posted to all of them. And I'm not saying it would be technically easy to implement, I have no idea, but I'm saying there are always room for improvement.

Near-identical communities/magazines with the same exact goal isn't practical.
