  • I downloaded the app just to see what the interface looked like and when I got to the app, it turns out that you can't access the app without automatically signing up for a subscription (even though there's a free trial period, for me this is clearly a redflag).

  • I replied to another comment:

However, I just noticed that my 4 RAM sticks weren't exactly the same (I didn't build the PC).

This image comes from the CPU-X software.

    2x Kingston 99U5428-063.A00LF

    2x Kingston KF3200C16D4/8GX

They are all configured in the same way:

    • Type : DIMM DDR4 Synchronous Unbuffered (Unregistered)
    • Size : 8Go
    • Speed : 3000 MT/s (configured & max)
    • Tension : 1.2V

I think it could be coming from here, knowing that I don't know anything about BIOS settings so it could also be coming from a bad setting in the bios.

  • The Finals is a really demanding game because the destruction of buildings in the game is impressive. Otherwise, I've tried several versions of Proton or applying launch options but nothing in particular happens, neither good nor bad.

  • I use a single SSD on the M2 port (the one for the OS + files). My games are stored on an SSD connected via Sata.

Otherwise, my monitor supports AMD FreeSync (I don't know if that's what you're talking about in relation to VRR).

  • I didn't want to justify my choice, but I have a slight handicap in my hand that prevents me from using large smartphones easily. (Malformation of the little finger)

Try and find me an Android phone the size of my iPhone 13 mini were you can put a privacy friendly os, and yes, we'll talk.

I've been on CalyxOs for over two years, but the pixels are too big, so the iPhone 13 mini was the best compromise for my privacy and my disability.

I know it's not perfect, but that's no reason to criticise it gratuitously without knowing the context.

What's more, Apple Maps in France isn't very effective, so it's not a convincing alternative.

  • I've been using Magic Earth for daily navigation for 5 years now and I love it! However, when it comes to finding up-to-date points of interest, historical sites, obtaining opening times for certain places, etc., etc., it's mission impossible… This is why I m asking 😉

  • I don't see anyone talking about it here but I'd dream of an open source alternative to AndroidTV/Apple Tv. Firstly because ATV is ultra-dependent on Google, and secondly because the interface is unclear and not really pretty.

Today I've switched to Apple TV, which is much better in terms of UX, but the OS is too closed and sideloading isn't possible...

So I hope to see some sort of CalyxOS / LineageOS for Tv arrive one day!
