That kit box would actually be perfect for my needs as this is a hobby I only visit occasionally or when needed. It would be great to have something I can easily store.
At this point Biden should stretch executive privilege and figure out how to check off as many boxes on the bill that he can. He's already subverted Congress getting aid to Israel.
What's the worst that can happen? They impeach him? They already are determined to at least give that show. I would love to see ComerPyle try to explain how they are impeaching him over increased border security.
Maybe Texas sues him. Okay Abbot, let's see how you justify suing the administration for providing more border agents, more tech, more personnel and resources.
One could argue that the MAGAts in Congress have breached the covenant of 3 coequal branches of government. I would never say that any one branch should act unilaterally, or do so without potential consequence, but this is mad. They are not doing their job, they aren't debating, and are actively throwing a tantrum like a child.
Luckily they don't have access to those. I'm not even sure the judge did. I think only the Marshalls and the clerk of courts. Otherwise they are completely sealed.
Judge Kaplan said Trump will face an anonymous nine-person jury, with the names, addresses and places of employment of prospective jurors kept secret, saying he found "strong reason" to provide special protections for jurors at the civil trial.
While it has not yet been enforced, my employer has an MDM. Because I do not want to violate this policy or install something that gives my employer access to my device, I do not use my personal device for work and I do not have a work device other than my laptop.
This has given me some interesting perspectives.
I do not need to be connected at all times.
I can walk away.
They pay me for work hours, not for my free time.
I can easily disconnect every night and weekend, even emergencies in my area can wait.
Seems people think things are much more urgent than they should be or actually are.
It's frustrating to hear comments about "trans people" or "gay people" or whatever other identifier they choose, the conversation is never about treating them like people. The way they speak would make more sense if they were talking about a stray dog than an actual feeling, thinking person.
Trans folk are the newest "others," though it seems that others basket is getting quite full lately.
Anytime someone in power says anything about needing to protect you from others, they are purposely sowing discord. It is the speaker that is trying to direct your anger away from them and unto the others.
Everyone is capable of being awesome and assholes. No identifying characteristic makes one anymore likely to be an asshole.
I have no evidence one way or the other. It looks like the California case was likely dismissed because what was being sued over occurred in New York. And the cases in New York were withdrawn, but why that occurred is unknown. There may have been a settlement out of court, but I can't find anything to prove that.
We have plenty of evidence at this point to speculate on what may have happened. Could there have been a settlement? Yes. Could the complainant have been intimidated into dropping the case? Yes. Could the complainant ultimately decide that her own health, safety, and well-being was more important? Absolutely.
These were all civil fillings seeking damages because the statute for criminal liability has passed. Pursuing a case like this as an individual is going to put her whole life under a microscope, force her to publicly relive the abuse, and open her up to cross examination by the defense. I think it is incredibly likely she walked away.
Lawsuits were filled against the buffoon and the pedo by the same individual, but ultimately they were dismissed or withdrawn. They were not settled, at least in no way that can be proven.
Now I'm not saying that the accusations were invented to negatively affect the buffoon's election chances, though that is a possibility. I find it unlikely as most sane individuals, especially with what was known at that time, would not risk a crime or being counter sued by filing a false claim. Not to mention licensed lawyers putting their own careers and repairs on the line.
We also know that the buffoon and his enablers and followers are not afraid to break the law or push its limits to make problems go away.
I love this talking point every time it is brought up.
Yes there has been civil unrest. Yes there have been violent actors involved who have often turned an intended peaceful protest into a riot.
People do get arrested at these events. Many are convicted for crimes.
Protests are a form of civil unrest, they are not an attempt to take over or stop official, constitutionally prescribed procedures. J6 was a seditious action.
Here are a few more items to educate yourself on, and there are many other examples that show the fallacy in your what-about-ism about all the violent rioters who walked away.
Although if we could get away from the partisan political mess we have now and get back to when members would work together instead of punishing them for crossing the isle there could be a chance. Maybe in 40 or 50 years, but that's still a chance.
I pay for premium so I can turn off my phone screen or do other things on my phone while listening to videos or music. Not having ads is a bonus. They would probably bug me if I had them. I've become indifferent to ads on most other things.
The impossible needs to happen. We need constitutional amendments to further define and protect our democracy. But that would require those in power to be willing to close the gaps to limit individuals and party power, and I think very few in state houses (states have to ratify amendments) or Congress want to do that. It's like the poor man who wants to protect the rich man's wealth from taxes because someday he will be rich too.
