  • Gemini doesn't work like Google assistant.

It doesn't seem to be able to actually take actions.

Things I used to do with assistant that do not work with Gemini

    • play something
    • Play "song title"
    • Play artist

I don't know about other things like seeing timers or running routines, I shut off Gemini as soon as I realized it couldn't handle my most used requests.

  • I see what you're trying to get at but I'd say your argument is disingenuous at best. As far as I know such an illness does not exist. More importantly you're using an industry that, in most locales, is highly regulated and has laws for food safety.

What you do do is raise a great argument for why sex work should be legalized and regulated.

  • Don't punish the taxpayer, punish the troll.

Requiring a government agency to pay a penalty will only ensure the agency will work with less efficiency. In turn, ineffective agencies are further criticized and will become a target for privatization, which only ever serves special interests and those with means.

Put an end to this one and for all. Pass a law that requires any entity which files suit on the basis of being a parent holder must show that they use the patent to earn income from sales that are proven to be independent from them and their officers. If the suit is only being filed for easy money, they should be fined heavily.

  • Your comment intrigued me as there is one that is just about the opposite of yours with a slightly different take.

You are concerned with your data being used to feed a private LLM. the other comment was concerned with three conversations being hidden from the public, more specifically not searchable from the outside and therefore hiding a knowledge repository.

I get both takes but they seem to be in conflict with each other. LLMs are important for accurate and useful AI, but there should also be a way for an open community to block them from consuming their data. It seems we missed a step somewhere. Providing data to an LLM should be opt-in.

  • "I am reporting this call to the FTC."

    donotcall.gov

If you want, you can also attempt to get a callback number and company name, state they are registered in before telling them you are reporting the call.

The more info you can report the better.

  • I hope you're correct in your analysis.

To me the argument was leaning more into the idea that it would be a violation of Stinky's rights to prevent him from being in the ballot. I think it's nuts to say, allow a traitor to run and be elected, then they can attempt to have their disability removed by Congress.

If they rule to overturn Colorado's decision, they will have essentially nullified section 3.

I don't think the reconstructionists ever imagined that a large number of people would look at someone who pointed a cannon at the Constitution and say that person should definitely hold office. If section 3 is not self-executing I struggle to see how it could be effectively used in any scenario.

  • And I think the house Republicans know and accept this. They know that Israel will continue to get funded and they will campaign that Dems and Biden blocked aide to Israel.

No one but Republicans win. Heads I won, tails you lose.

It may give Biden some cred with the pro Ukraine voters.

  • I suspect a case of projection here. Make porn illegal so I will no longer be tempted to watch it.

I think someone needs to research prohibition a bit more. During which time nude images, even art, were banned in many areas.

  • This is the most disgusting shit. All of this border cruelty.

I have tried to think of a situation where I would put my family in peril and hand over my life savings for just a chance of a better life, not even a guarantee. I can only imagine the horror that could cause such an action.

These people are not waking up one day and just going across the border. They have journeyed for weeks, even months. Risking everything to cross some of the most treacherous terrain in the world. This is not a decision made lightly.

These are desperate people, and they are people. We may only be an economic collapse away from being just like them.

Nothing justifies intentionally causing harm to another person when your own life is not in direct threat. Most states consider it a crime to set a trap that may maim someone who breaks into your home. In Florida I would be fined or charged if I put up razor wire with the intent of harming any animal, even invasive animals that can be hunted throughout the year on public land.

But with MAGAts, cruelty is the point.
