  • my guess is because the CPU power levels are fucking trashed because of all the patches they have to run at runtime. before Intel went all "wild west" with their security practices to improve performance, sleep worked just fine for me.

keep in mind, this was before uefi too, so it might also have a hand in the problems.

  • In the movie Moana she hits her head while trying to escape the thrashing waves. when she wakes up she's on the beach and has magic water powers.

I believe she is actually dying and everything after that point in the movie is a fantasy in her head as she slowly dies. she knows this deep down and struggles with the concept of death immediately after when her grandmother dies, thus sending her off on a journey to save her people (herself).

she then follows Maui who guides her along to the afterlife (even takes a small detour to the underworld). when she finally meets Te Fiti the goddess is in a state of duality (life and death). only after restoring Te Fiti to her living state does she return to her people where they welcome her back to the land of the living.

  • trauma bonding is a real thing and victims sometimes seek out content to continue traumatization.

your gf is likely seeking comfort through the trauma of current events. since you're both seeking the same thing (comfort) but through different methods you should take the initiative and invite her over to spend time together. set boundaries on what you will and will not talk about though. if she can't follow your needs then you might want to reconsider the relationship.

there's no reason to sacrifice your own mental health for someone who refuses to consider your emotional state.
