  • So I engaged in the only way I knew how, by trying to rationalize her experiences when I should have been empathizing with them.

Ah, ok. I'm essentially the same as the person in the video. I didn't talk about something unless I want help and the situation fixed. Otherwise, I kept to myself, and I treated others the same. It was a rough young adulthood.

  • emotion, anger and hate requires effort and as a very lazy person it seems like a whole lot of effort misspent

Not to me. Emotions just are. My parents taught me a lot of bigoted ways and those emotions just rise up. I had to argue with myself against those thought, after I moved out and grew up.

  • Unfortunately, they always seem to be cliquish, judgemental, and overly toxic, with moderation/admin who’s are either complicit or actively adding to the bad barrel.

Agreed. Been in some like that. I try to be the change I want to see, but I'm can't spend massive amounts of energy on it.

  • No, not because of cheapening. I've left hobbies because of the crowds associated with it (anime) or because I couldn't afford pay to win (magic the gathering). My current hobbies are one that benefit from community but don't need it: homebrewing, baking, 3d printing, food preservation, etc.

  • I will probably get a smaller, cheaper dedicated printer to run that on exclusively, and leave my big printer for big stuff, with a bigger nozzle

That's actually why this is happening, lol. I got a bigger printer so my older smaller one is going to be just for tiny nozzle.

  • Technology Connections - you didn’t know you were going to love learning about dishwashers and other appliances, but you are.

Not just that but really great comedic writing and delivery. I love the just right amount of sarcasm and pedantry. Not too much to be annoying, just enough to be hilarious.
