  • I have one podcast I listen to like this because I know them personally, and it's like hanging out with them. I need to have a hook to listen.

I like Making It with Jimmy DiResta, David Piccutto, and Bob Clegatt (I like to make stuff on YT) because they're makers and youtubers. They do talk about random crap sometimes, but they also talk about making stuff and youtube and being middle aged with all those things in the mix.

  • There's a story that pops up time and again on forums about men buying time with escorts but not having sex with them. They have dinner or something, then she just listens to him. Idk if it's true or not, I've never heard of it irl. It's like therapy with a hot woman.

  • Anything. Literally anything. The only time I get noticed is when someone needs something from me. I define my existence by how useful I am to others because that's the only time I've ever felt wanted. I hate it, but it's better than being completely ignored (which has happened many times in my life).

  • I just cant fathom going to a place and think boy I wish there were more X here.

I can. I can't learn from or have discussions with people who have literally the same life as me. That's kinda boring.

    Is it an American thing?

Yes. Diversity has been drilled into me my entire life. There are news articles and lawsuits about discrimination all the time. IDK about other countries, but, yeah, diversity is a huge thing in the USA.

  • What I mean about constructing statistics is going to a place and starting counting people hmmm yes there are 95% straight people here and 96% white people here

    No.

In my post, I linked to a statistics page from a popular homebrewing community. https://brulosophy.com/2024/05/27/2024-general-homebrewer-survey-results/

This is not representative of the American demographics. It's largely skewed. I then went to my regular meeting and saw the same thing. I wondered if there's a specific reason for the difference. I asked here.
