  • its 16, or was when I was 16, here in canada, but I didnt get mine until I kinda had no choice at 21 when the only worthwhile work was far away. If we had the infrastructure to do it safely I totally would have just biked, but it was a long haul highway with rockslide cliff on the right, deep salt water and rocks on the left with no median or separator and barely even a shoulder before the ditch.

  • I had one room in my old house where the line wasnt stapled to the framing and was able to bind them together and pull it through at the other end. the rest were stapled

current house I can run them through the attic and down the inside of the walls but the attic is full of rat shit and I can't motivate myself even with hazmat suit.

  • for lemmy I had to try 3 times before landing on this one. just toxic shit constantly pumped my way where I was blocking pretty much everything and still getting more. I still have tons of stuff blocked though.

  • the main reason the ereader works for me is the ability to override pretty much every aspect of the text. I can do most non glossy paper and text but some books and especially textbooks are a real bitch and everyone thought I was just making shit up when I was in school. text size is usually ok but I tend to make it bigger so I dont need glasses

  • 10 years ago I ate a lot of bulk bagged cereal. at the time even some of the 'natural/organic' brands were cheaper by weight. I stopped when it became about the same and I was also sick of cereal. probably close to 7 years ago like you said.

  • when I was a kid the circles I saw from the plane window really bothered me and nobody could tell me what they were. we didn't even have dial up when I first saw them so looking them up was hard without knowing what they are called.

  • ebook is the only way to guarantee I can read the book. page material and gloss, layout, spacing, kerning, etc. can all combine in various ways to make me inexplicably unable to read or have a really hard time reading where I have to focus really hard on each letter rather than each sentence. Oled has made is possible for me to read large bodies of text on phones but for full books I always go for the eink.

  • I don't remember much political shit with vine. Just silly videos that didn't reek of trying to game the algorithm to make money. It makes me think of how tablets failed originally but then apple made them and everyone wanted to pay to lick the turtleneck guy's asshole.
