  • Personally I've never used HeliBoard but from the surface level digging I've done it looks pretty similar and is chasing the same goal as FUTO: a good fully offline keyboard app.

I heard about FUTO and tried it's "voice to text" function and was impressed so I've stuck with it. This function for it is also fully offline vs the default GBoard which sends that voice data to Google to store indefinitely.

  • Just be sure to not use the default keyboard on your phone, use one that never connects to the internet.

    I'd recommend the FUTO keyboard.

  • Wireless drivers are in a lot better state than they used to be, printer drivers are very dependent on the brand you have.

IME (YMMV) Brother printers seem to consistently work quite well and Epson printers seem to consistently be shit.

  • Thank you!

I'm particularly proud of that one, I was hoping to give a couple other local peaks the same treatment this last year but the conditions just didn't align right with my time off.

There's hope for this year though!

  • Thank you!

Pixelfed is pretty chill overall IMO, especially with how it's algorithm is implemented. Chronological and only what you follow unless you look for things, things it's just chronological.

I'd recommend keeping your work social media accounts separate from personal accounts, it makes things easier to maintain and easier to keep a public image.

  • Hopefully your family gets well soon, it really blows when you're the only healthy in a household.

So far so good, I'm finishing a photo project I started last week and the band that commissioned me is so far happy as hell with the images they're getting. They're even going to be giving me a shirt and a copy of their album when it releases.

I can't share the images until they get the ones they're happy with but I'll definitely share those over on my PixelFed when I'm done with them.

I've also got it down to just Lightroom holding me on Windows, I'm planning to learn some of the open source alternatives once I'm done with this project as not only has Windows over stayed it's welcome so has the Adobe suite. My plan is to leave Windows (ideally) before the end of March.

  • Yeah a github repo creation date is pretty close to meaningless IMO.

It's the update history that matters.

A project being started, shelved, then revisited later is the name of the game when it comes to me, and I honestly believe that's pretty typical for large projects.

  • I was wondering why OPs post looked so familiar... It makes so much sense now.

OP really needs to touch some grass.

  • Literacy rates are on a severe decline in the US, AI is only going to make that worse.

Over half of Americans between 16 and 74 read below a 6th grade level (that's below the expected reading level of an 11 year old!)

  • Edit after seeing it for the first time: They should really male the text bigger IMO and/or add an extra disclaimer when it's added to the cart. Like "The Early Access game you have added to your cart hasn't had an update in [insert time] would you like to continue?" And highlight the item.

After this line the rest of the comment is unchanged.

Depends on the game really, but in general I agree.

Some early access games have the core gameplay loop done they're just not feature complete, and some early access games didn't nail the loop before being abandoned. Some are barely functional when abandoned, and some are thinly veiled tech demos.

And some early access games have been in early access forever constantly ballooning in scope and will likely never leave early access. And some came with an initial scope that should've been a huge red flag for everyone but then they basically went into "maintain appearances" mode (scams like Star Citizen)

  • No better time than the present to learn a new skill! Especially with the amount of resources available nowadays.

Personally I'd take picture of each piece from at least 3 sides (top, left, front) all with an object of known size (like a ruler) in frame. Then pick your software (Blender is AWESOME) and faff about and stumble through and learn.

It's hard at first but the level of satisfaction that comes from learning a new skill is immense.

  • This so much

Straight up even with how little OP said they seem to be saying, "I harrassed this person online to the point they blocked me on all platforms I had to communicate with them, does anyone else have issues with them?"

OP should treat this as a learning opportunity, touch grass, and enjoy the work of others for what that work is. Don't harass people online folks.

  • A damn good read, thanks for sharing

I'm going to have to download the font to give some use

  • $6 for our cheapest dozen eggs at my local store in my neck of the woods in Washington.

So about triple where they were last year.

We have quite a few farms right in the area so the price is normally pretty low.

  • Likewise

I've literally posted over 3k comments and over 300 posts since moving over here

I've been busy over here lol

  • Hopefully they see this post to add the new domain to the "Do Not Federate" list.

    Edit: Wording.

  • Ah the lovely disposable tools, how I hate these so much.

    Thank you for the info.
