Oh I forgot, so then this other asshole says the bill is "deader than fried chicken" because we can always just fillibuster it.
We need to get rid of the current fillibuster. Make them stand up there and talk forever. If you want to block something then you have to actually mean it. Oh sorry you have to pee? Get fucked.
I was listening to the whole thing about Rs protesting against increasing the required ethics to be a supreme court justice and it was just so bizarre.
They were saying that requiring justices to abide by the same code of ethics as congress would destroy the supreme court as we know it. Like... Yes, I know. That's entirely the point.
I'm not saying it's right, just that's their rationale. I literally discussed this with a middle school principal a few days ago and that was what she said.
Regardless of what you think about the policy, the fact is that your kids will have to abide by it.
Fact: if your kid is being bullied, they need to communicate to a person of authority. Answering a bully with violence is the wrong choice 99% of the time. They are usually bigger than you and have backup.
Also usually it doesn't progress to a fight the very first time, usually it takes weeks, and during this time you would have many opportunities to tell a teacher or something.
Again, not advocating that this is right, but that's their rationale.
Looking at it from the other side, it's actually rare that an innocent kid is beat up without context.
Usually there's 2 kids that have a beef and have been egging each other on for days. Eventually one kid says something and the other kid snaps and makes the first move but the second kid was just as guilty.
If you only look at "who started it" the second kid gets off scot free, while the first kid gets punished. Not really fair.
"Zero tolerance " attempts to fix this by recognizing that both kids likely played a part.
Sure there are definitely things I'd like to have done differently but there are other things that I have no idea how I pulled off. One small change at 6 could so radically change my life that I wouldn't recognize it any more.
And a 35 year old stuck in a 6yr olds body just sounds awful. You would know and understand so much more than your peers, your innocent child's mind has been replaced with the cynicism of reality...
It would be a living hell.
It would be 8 years at minimum before you could have a meaningful conversation with any peers, and you'd still be "that weird kid" to everyone.
I don't know how I'd do it, but I wouldn't be able to deal with it. Just the knowledge that I'd probably never meet my wife and my son would be gone forever would be too much to bear.
angle grinder:
The gear ratio is probably around 4:1 or more so you'd either be turning the knob forever or it would be very difficult to turn
Wood gears:
Much harder than you think, but not impossible with the right tools, but I'm assuming you don't have them. If you are determined you can go check out https://woodgears.ca/ however, he has some templates you can print out and cut out.
Bicycle cassette:
Those are sprockets not gears. They would be quite clunky and difficult to use as gears.
The best thing to do would be to simply relocate the valve. With some sharkbite fittings and some copper pipe and a Pipe Cutter you could easily relocate the valve, and there would be less work than trying to fit in a cobbled together right angle gearbox.
That's what I found after researching as well. Now on the opposite side of the spectrum, we bought a house with zero insulation in the attic. Paid $1800 for I think 16" of blown in insulation. Simple return on that was less than 6 months. Next will be crawl space insulation and encapsulation. That's going to run around $3000 and I expect maybe 2-3 year return on that.
Nice video!
