  • They aren't being paid for summer though. Most teachers have a daily rate of pay for each work day. They then take that and divide it by 12 and pay the teachers once a month.

The paychecks received in June and July are for work done earlier in the year that are delayed so that teachers can budget easier and so the district can earn some interest on it.

  • In a way yes, NPR talked about a study where conservative brains have a bigger fear center in the brain. There were a lot of cool distinctions made between conservatives and liberals in their brains and behavior patterns.

  • Republicans are good about showing up to every election and vote all the way down the ballot, which helps them pack the courts. They can then do things like this to give their party a better chance at winning an election.

  • The major supporters sure, but that timing could help push people that are still on the fence towards Trump.

Republicans as a whole are better at going to vote than Democrats are, especially so in red states. We don't need more events scheduled to further rally and anger the right a few weeks before the election. There was already too much violence after the 2020 election.

  • The law says "express purpose", the purpose of the flight isn't to block the sun. The purpose of the flight is to carry people to a destination and a by-product of that purpose creates a shadow.

I thought the same thing at first about the airplanes releasing CO2 into the air, but that release isn't the express purpose of flying a plane.

  • No, we don't get letters in the mail about elections. The options are news, radio, or look it up yourself outside of social media. With streaming so popular, people don't see near as many ads as they used to on their TV. That leaves social media as the biggest informer of upcoming elections and to hear about issues.

  • Read up on Genie Plus, they now have a system where you can get a virtual queue starting at 7 AM on the app that will give you a time window to join a ride (kinda like Fast Pass). Then you have to wait a certain amount of time to join another virtual queue. Some rides, like Tron and Guardians of the Galaxy, are virtual queue only. There is also Lighning Lane, that costs around $16 and let's you basically skip the line.

I think there's even a way to link everyone's accounts together so that you can select the virtual queue or lightning lane for everyone. You definitely can link accounts, so that all your pictures are pushed to everyone's account. If a picture doesn't show up from a ride, you can tell them the date, time, and a description of people in the group and they can normally find you and send the pictures into your Disney experience app I hope y'all have a great trip!

  • Yes, Star Tours has changed. A friend rode it back to back like 6 times and only repeated a couple scenes. The ride has multiple scenes to choose from the prequels, OT, and sequels and it's all randomized.

  • Unfortunately, Honey I shrunk the kids is no more and I heard that they are getting rid of A Bugs Life (although that might just be a retheme)retirement.

The Star Tours ride moves around while you're in it and the Avatar ride moves and puffs smells while you fly on the back of the flying dragon animals, but I think that's the closest experience to 4D now.

  • I know, his mental state hasn't been very good at any point in his campaigning. I remember seeing a speech of his that interrupted some TV programming shortly after he became president and it was just mindless rambling. I have ADHD and I couldn't even follow it, it was so bad.

  • Here in the US, minimum wage is still just $7.25. I don't think they are going to do anything about it anytime soon. We have a hard enough time rallying people to slow rise of authoritarianism
