  • Unlikely. There are and where good economic and political reasons for the war.

The blossoming democracy, freedom and wealth in Ukraine are dangerous to the stability of Russia. They show what could have been.

The annexation of crimes did bring ports to further Russia's imperial ambition. The agricultural land is of high quality and will secure Russia's role as a resource exporter after the phase out of fossils. You also need to keep in mind that siberia's agricultural output is severely at risk from climate change. Ukraine had impressive heavy industry. They took transit tolls for Russian gas which could be saved.

Put a filter on one slit to measure the beams. Done.

Edit: this thinks about a related experiment, where you build an interferometer instead of a double slit. Now rephrase the experiment s.t. you have to beams serviced from a singular beam. interfere the two beams with each other. If you measure on one beam path (e.g. Pol filter) you destroy the interference pattern.

  • If you have n rooms and n guests there are no empty rooms. Let n go to infinity and there should still be no empty rooms.

The trick of the Hilbert hotel is that if you add a guest to a hotel with countably infinite guests the number of guests does not change.

  • My man, the issue is that reluctance to decarbonize may be fuelled by this. Not that it will not be necessary. The current climate predictions are quite optimistic and shit is going to shit. This means we must not hope for a wonder weapon, but do what is possible and economic today, instead of active inaction and paralysis.

This sentiment is shared with a substantial part of the CCS critical experts.

  • This is a joke.

While physically possible DAC is a waste of money and energy compared to effective measures such as constructing solar farms, batteries and power lines. Even hydrolysis may look attractive.

  • This is actually a great example for why that stick must not exist.

You can also do this with a unbreakable stick and an unbreakable shorter tube. Throw the stick at a high velocity through the tube and it contracts for the point of view of the tube. Then close it shut. Now you have a stick that's longer than the tube fully contained in it.
