I always ride on the side walk if there is one. I'd rather get hit by someone backing up at 5mph than someone going down the road at 50mph. And I'm always watching driveways for cars backing up.

Yeah, very little plastic actually gets recycled but its better than none of it.

Yes. Almost half of all microplastic particles are fibers from synthetic clothing. So I avoid buying clothes that are not made with natural materials. I also avoid single use plaatics as much as I can and recycle as much as I can.

Please link to all relevant scientific literature. Otherwise I'm going to assume you're just spouting talking points out of your ass because this stuff hasn't been studied as extensively as you claim.

In general I think of reddit mods as thin-skinned cucks on a power-trip.

Haven't interacted with many lemmy mods, but I assume they'll trend in the same direction. It's a lot of work for no pay, so it's going to attract people with ulterior motives.

I agree with a lot of what you said. I think we need a digital bill of rights to protect things like online privacy and personal data.

There's two reasons TikTok is different:

1. Being controlled by a foreign adversary is not comparable to a corporation trying to make money. They will use the data they collect to weaken American interests and push their own.
2. As I understand it, the data collected by TikTok is so excessive it makes Facebook look mild.

It's because the app is controlled by a foreign adversary. If there was a Russian social media app that collected obscene amounts of user data, people would be rightly calling for that to be banned too.

Trump was right, people just didn't want to admit it.
