This sounds very close to the description of the US in this very moment. From an outsiders perspective China seems to be doing about as good and bad as the US all things considered.

I had an ipad pro and it was an awful experience for me. Lack of customizations I deem normal, lack of real choice, limitations at every step. The walled garden felt hostile to me, the user. I sold it and got a Samsung tablet instead and it's been perfect. The only thing missing is procreate, but I have alternatives that do 99% of what I wanted.

It used to be done a lot more before and some places still do it in Europe. You return the glass bottle intact, they reuse it as is. Only carbon spent is in transporting it.

We are in complete agreement. Like I said if you get a job in another EU country there's nothing stopping you from getting permanent residency there as well. The discussion was about moving with kids, which is the parents responsibility to figure out when it comes to cost and feasibility, but the EU will not stop them and does not impose additional barriers just because one has kids.

If you had a job that could sustain you and you get a new job within EU that can also sustain you, it's about as expensive as you would expect a long distance move to be. There's no system in place as far as I know to block you from getting permanent residency in another EU country because you don't have starting money. That's just your inherent responsability to figure out like with any move.

The barriers are your skills and language. Other than that, no.

Edit: some people move without permanent residency anyway. It has its' drawbacks.

Both Yemefer and Triss were poor choices in my opinion. But I would have watched it regardless if there was anything of substance to watch after the first season.

There's something special about a game like red dead 2 or ghost of tsushima that makes you stop and just enjoy the scenery. Games with good graphics have their place, it's just that they need to also have all the other elements to be any good.

Pretty much all of Europe lists wood in exact size of the cut that you get. It sounds highly illegal to call it a 5x5cm piece of wood and sell some other random smaller size.

I still think bluetooth is not great, with a lot of weird connection issues even on expensive devices, which was never a problem with a wire, but I do enjoy the freedom it offers.

They already had it and it was working just fine. They tore it down and went full coal and some gas. Now wind and solar are taking over slowly, but it's been years with more pollution and more radiation than any already working nuclear plant would have emmited.

I have the same impression after comparing it recently to Spotify. On Spotify there is no dislike button so I can't say, please don't play this song anymore, I can only ban the entire artist which is definitely not what I want and also not as easy to do. Then when it comes to generated playlist out of one song, the Spotify songs seem irrelevant to the song they start from, while the yt songs are at the very least in the same genre.

And the interface works fine, I'm never sure what people talk about when they say it's not good.

Don't use it if you don't like it, but don't give this bullshit Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda control of something just because you don't like it.

It's just as bad or good as any other algorithm based content app like Facebook or Instagram. If we have a problem with privacy for example then go after that like with gdpr.
