  • Again, I understand the point is that he doesn't like the image. My point is that there is more than one way to interpret the image, and they're not all positive. And when some one points that out, they're downvoted and mocked.

I say it's lazy because I've been hearing people call straight people gay since elementary school. To piss them off. I don't see how this is much different even if the intent was to criticize his homophobia. The effect is still the same

  • Most people understand that. But I don't want to be associated with Putin even as a joke. Fuck him, he doesn't deserve the honor of even being depicted as gay.

I'm not saying no one can make this joke, but it seems kinda lazy and relies too much on stereotypes to be funny imo

  • You fundamentally misunderstood several of my points and I'm assuming it was intentional.

You don't know who makes decisions on algorithms, so you're speculating without evidence.

I'm not surprised Hamas leaders are rich, they've been funded by Israel. Also, good job proving my point that you see any criticism of Israel as Hamas sympathy. That's like assuming every Democrat that criticizes Biden is a secret Republican. That's delusional and undermines your argument.

TikTok censorship has been reported outside of TikTok. Just like other social media. Why even argue on that point? That's something you should latch onto that we actually agree on.

I don't swing from one party to the next. I have moved further and further left BECAUSE of my government. You intentionally missed my point again. I have an excellent understanding of politics and that's WHY I hate the government. TikTok is separate from that entirely. I hate the Chinese government, and the Russian government, and most governments tbh. And we could spend hours discussing my politics, but that's just distracting from my very obvious point.

But maybe TikTok has influenced you towards wanting to destroy your own country.

Never seen a straw man so fragile. You don't know many of the things you claim to know, especially my motivations. But I can guess at your pro Israel intentions

  • Because you're advocating for citizens free will over government control, a great concept. But America is an excellent example of a country that worships freedom like a religion but is also high in suicide rates and is falling apart due to unregulated capitalism and freedoms at the expense of common sense.

And I'm American, we think everything is about us

  • Yeah for sure, it's super useful. Also interesting to see if and why your own comments get removed.

Like the time I called someone a zionist shill, I kinda get. The first comment of mine that got removed was a pretty supportive pro-trans comment but maybe the mod thought I was being too aggressive toward the person I replied to? Anyways, love that there's that transparency here

  • operated out of an authoritarian country

Parent company is operated out of China, actually company is operated out of Singapore, US, Europe.

Spewing propaganda from a terrorist organization

You referring to Hamas? They barely have Internet access, and they certainly don't get any special treatment on the app. The people criticizing Israel are not terrorists or terrorist sympathizers, and mislabeling them as such doesn't do you any favors. And TikTok has been allegedly suppressing any videos talking about that subject.

Making you hate your own government

Wrong. The only people making me hate my government is my government. I actually realized that Republicans pushed me left, but it was mostly the left that pushed me so far left that I want my guns back.

    The TikTok crowd

You don't understand how many people are on the app and their demographics do you?

  • Men can be women and vice-versa

This part says a lot about how knowledgeable a person is on being transgender.

A person is born trans or cis, it's not a choice.

A person can differ from their assigned gender biologically, genetically, mentally, socially, etc. But regardless of HOW they are not cis, it IS fundamentally a part of who they are. A trans woman is not a man and has never been a man. They can change how they present themselves to be more feminine or more masculine, but not their gender. That's determined in the womb.

I can provide sources or more information, but I'm not going to type a huge, well informed comment if it falls on deaf ears. So please let me know if you want more information and I'd be happy to provide it.

  • You can work within the system or outside of it. Within the system there are only two actual presidential options, Republican or Democrat.

I despise Biden for what he's complicit in as well, but on election day there's not much we can do. We're not getting every Democrat to vote for a third party, and even if we did it would still have to get past the electoral college. The time to fight within the system is every other day.

Now if you're talking about sending messages in other, more old school french ways...

  • Every person I know who's spent money on star citizen seems happy with their RoI

Every person you know personally? Most comment sections I've seen discussing Star Citizen seems to have at least one or two people who are unhappy with their roi. Personally, I don't feel like I've been able to get my full money's worth yet. I think I will some day, I know it's more than a tech demo, but the gameplay isn't quite there yet and the game is still really buggy and unoptimized.

If they can release Squadron 42 this year or next, I think that'd really start to turn things around for them more than anything else

  • There is a huge lack of quality content compared to tiktok. And it's algorithm is horrendous.

Despite spending months trying to get YouTube to NOT show me far right, conservative, police loving, religious, or bigoted content, I still see it every once in a while. I've reported content, downvoted, selected 'I'm not interested' and nothing works.

There was a video from a lawyer about a black woman telling her child it's ok to take the entire Halloween candy bowl and if legally that's stealing.

Almost every other comment was some form of "well what do you expect from those people" or "it's always the one you expect the most" or just straight up slurs. So many racist 'jokes' and I spent an hour just reporting comments.

Another video of a person driving through protestors blocking the road. Controversial and frustrating, I understand. But almost every comment was "the protestors deserve it" or "I'd drive through them too" and some real sociopathic shit.

And almost all the ads are horrendous. Literally Joe Rogan brain supplements, trashy weight loss, sketchy ai read 'science' on what doctors don't want to to know. I would rather hear about Raid Shadow Legends.

I've found a couple gems in the mix, actual content creators that are funny or interesting. But almost all of them are also on TikTok too so there's no reason to torture myself scrolling through a post apocalyptic wasteland. And there are so many quality creators on TikTok that aren't on YouTube.

I believe a big part of it is (from what I've heard) TikTok has the best creator fund for paying the people who make videos. So without an outright ban, there's no reason for them to switch. Really, this would be an absolutely huge win for YouTube/Google. And as much as I distrust TikTok, it would be a loss for creators and viewers. At least imo
