Except for China being the colonizer now.

Lemmy.ml is already in full anti-US imperialism mode, saying that the western imposed sanctuary of borders needs to stop and the US puppet state of Guyana has to surrender to Venezuela.

So I wouldn't trust that the UN can step in, if Russia or China takes this stance as well.

So the only reasonable take is, that we don't pay enough for consuming music, right? Because you have no label taking a cut and streaming services are not profitable themselves.

Spotify made this quarter the first time a profit since it existence. So if you think artists aren't paid enough, its either of these three:

1. We pay too little for consuming music.
2. The record labels take a too big share.
3. Spotify is really inefficient and could pay out more if they work more efficiently.

The only thing not possible is Spotify taking all the profit since they don't make any.

How can you undermine an authoritarian regime, who doesnt hold votes, politically? That just doesn't work.

I would condemn this tactic as well. Thats just not right. But I am on Ukraine's side, since its a democratic elected government defending against an outside aggressor.

I also support the Palestinian people. I am for a ceasefire under the condition, that 2 states emerge and a democratic elected government – which is not the Hamas – rules Palestine and both sides put a sentence in their laws, which can't be altered, that they respect the other borders. No more Israeli settlers pushing the borders further and further terrorizing the Palestinians. And finally acceptance that there is a democratic state with a Jewish majority in the middle east.

What are Israels options if they get attacked out of these densely populated areas?

They where unfit beforehand as well. Hamas is ruling the Gaza strip for years now. Thats one of the main reasons we see this human disaster now. The PA allowed Hamas to set up the Palestinian people as human shields for the rocket launchers and command bases.

The other hospitals bombed where used by the Hamas to hide and used as a base for rockets and their command. Therefore they can be attacked. This hospital wasn't, as far as we know.

If you watch the guys over at hexbear and lemmy.ml thats a good thing because censorship is good, because it secures societal peace. I wonder how they explain that thousands of people use these tools then.

And there you are in one of the culture wars discussions we currently have in Germany. While progressives are using gendered nouns specificing which genders you are referring too (for example: Tänzerinnen and Tänzer – often abbreviated Tänzer*innen – if you had female and male dancers, Tänzerinnen if only female and Tänzer if only male), conservatives want to keep the old tradition of making a group of people male once a single male is included.

This has real world implications, though. There are jobs which are often gendered female – typically lower paid jobs like kindergarden teacher or nurse – and others are typically gendered male, like engineer or politican. There have been a couple studies with children where children were asked if their could think of taking a specified job. And if the job gender matched their gender, they were more likely to see themselves suitable for that job. And if you now remember that engineers are typically referred to as male and nurses are typically referred as female, this is one expiation on why Germany has one of the largest uncorrected gender pay gaps in Europe.
