  • I can't really say that Ghostbusters for the Master System was a GOOD game lol. I agree though, that map twisted my brain trying to understand the perspective the buildings were drawn in. I also only played the game with a money cheat so I could afford stuff. I think I beat the game a few times, the part at the end of having to time running past the Marshmallow Man sucked.

  • It bothers me that in the U.S., we extend that courtesy to pets who are suffering from terminal issues. But we expect loved ones to hang on and suffer for no real reason other then the vague notion that the imaginary sky man would disapprove.

My grandma passed away 2 months shy of her 101st birthday. I visited her a few weeks before she passed, she was gaunt, skeletal, couldn't see us and was reacting to hallucination caused by their body slowly shutting down. She didn't even know my Mom and I were even there, and when we told her her daughter was there to see her, she said "No, I don't believe it" while staring blanking into the corner of the room. She wasn't suffering from dementia, it was cancer that came back which was killing her. What reason would we not allow a loved pet to suffer though that, but a blood relative, hell yeah, let them lay and suffer for weeks, months, years.

I don't have any grand ideas on how to prevent abuse, I just think it's humane to not let a thinking being suffer needlessly.

  • I hope that works! I never got into digital downloads on consoles in any big way, how companies make games from the online shop inaccessible once the console goes end of life is a damn shame! It feels like the more and more consoles move toward digital only, the less we'll have viable retro consoles in the future.

  • I noticed this bullshit a few days ago on my Win 11 desktop! I found if you go check the settings of the start bar, you can hide the copilot icon in the lower right, and then there's a check box to enable the lower right hand corner to work as show desktop again. The functionality can be restore to exactly as it was, but what the hell were they thinking.

    Enshitification, plain and simple.

  • I'd think that any alien species advanced enough to travel the stars would see a row of consistent shapes etched into the rock and realize it couldn't be nature. Maybe one face like rock sure, but 4 faces etched would be too big a coincidence and I think aliens would pick up on that. Now they wouldn't be able to tell much about us as a species other then we could work rock pretty well. They'd have no idea of what our bodies look like, or that the hair carved into the stone were soft strains of protein instead of a hard helmet like carapace. But I think they'd get intelligent life created the carvings on Mount Rushmore.

  • One thing I absolutely hated was the Open World, it was non-stop jammed packed full of monsters, just spawning non-stop. And they are always around your level, so you never feel like you're progressing in power. It was just such a shitty way to handle the world, you can never clear out an area, never go back to an earlier area and flex your new power. Also, monsters spawning constantly was jarring, but the first time I saw a grizzly bear climb straight out of the ground, not a den, just the ground.... lazy bullshit.

There are so many things that were just trash about that game, the stats on gear, it was impossible to figure out which pieces would be actual upgrades. The skill trees looked fun but feel so empty and hollow, ugh, I'm irritated all over again about that purchase.

So unless you've corrected all of that stuff plus a ton more, I probably won't ever play it again.

  • Diablo 4, hands down. My best friend and I have been playing co-op games together for many years, and we were convinced that D4 would be the next 200+ hour co-op event of the year. So I bought myself the 100 dollar collectors edition and he, the same one since his birthday was near launch.

Yep, after 2 weeks we both admitted it just wasn't a good game, and neither of us wanted to play anymore. What a massive disappointment.

  • I watched a special years ago about what would happen to our infrastructure, buildings, etc if humans just blinked out of existence. The show start off advancing time, touching on events as they might occur. The very last thing to withstand the test of time was Mount Rushmore, due to be carved from granite. Mount Rushmore would stick around for a very very very long time and would be the last trace of us. But that's just that one TV show special's opinion, but it sounds pretty.....solid to me.

  • I have people in my life that are terrified he'll win again. I keep telling them the same thing you said, he he lost in 2020 because people who weren't hardcore MAGA saw him for what he is and didn't want him to have a 2nd term. Trump certainly hasn't converted any more voters to his side since 2020, most likely has lost a ton. People just need to make sure they get out and vote, and I think articles like this are meant to make people think it's hopeless and stay home.

  • I purchased Palworld today, started it up, I made a character, and walked around a bit, but I had to exit the game to go get an errand done. I get this game is aping pokemon hard, but the thing that struck me hard was how much they ripped off the "New Area Discovered" sequence Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom used. Palworld did the same behavior as I left a cave, almost the same sound/music clip, the font looked the same, the color too. Yeah, very much felt like a copy/paste, what a bizarre thing to copy.

  • I'm 42, I was fat in my 20s and didn't lose 100 pounds and get in shape until 31. I'd gladly take that pill right this instant, make a lot of different choices, lose my weight and get in shape at a younger age too. I would have a very different life I bet.

But alas, your theoretical pill just taunts "Now Me"!
